  1. Okay, I'M SORRY. This evening, I can't, too much emotions I don't remember the last time that I felt like this, two very similar scenarios, two very different outcomes. One very talented young lady - Liveta Jasiūnaitė saving the day for Lithuania and winning an extremely unexpected bronze medal, but a medal that means so so so much. Seeing a medal from someone other than Gudžius or Palšytė means trumendously for Lithuania, this is one of the most successful European Championships for us. I'm extremely happy with what I got to experience today and this is one of the days that'll stick with me for my entire life, just like Athens 2004 with Skujytė
  2. As far as this day is going, I'm certain that Demireva will go and throw the Javelin 62 metres to make sure that Liveta gets 4th as well
  3. Well, in all honesty, I had no clue that Airinė would even put up a fight here and thought she'd end in 7-8th. So I guess major thanks to her for managing to make me an emotional wreck for the past 30 minutes but, of course, the disappointment is still large, since it was that close and could have been a joined bronze if not for that unneeded 1.87 mistake.
  4. Look at all of those faces. The trolling is priceless
  5. Slow, painful and dragged out heart attacks are always the best.
  6. It has been a long time since I felt so much stress watching a competition
  7. I CAN"TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
  8. Also, if anyone is ever getting 'thanks' from me with their jokes, know that it means that I appreciate it even more than 'haha'
  9. On a sidenote, Liveta threw the javelin over 60 metres, so I think she earned herself extra three throws with that one
  10. Airine, what are you doing to my heart?
  11. Ok, with Demireva's mistake it's all out in the open now
  12. Yup, but it's all a blur from now, since she hasn't raised the bar higher than 1.91 this year in the two competitions she entered.
  13. So sad that Palšytė is recovering It seems that no one is prepared for this final except for Lasitskienė and Demireva.
  14. If Demireva doesn't get at least silver this evening, then it's a pretty horrible performance from her. Licwinko is not here, Palšytė is way under form recovering from injuries. Perhaps Levchenko could do something, but the others should be only bronze medal contenders at best.
  15. Austra Skujytė is now training a girl that's breaking all of our U16 100m and Long Jump records. She (Skujytė) might have not been a good sprinter in her time (because of how her body was built), but she finished the best sprinter school possible in Lithuania (her coach was Stanislovaitis that passed away two years ago) and is now probably the only person handing down his knowledge, since Lithuanian 100m record holder Rytis Sakalauskas left the sport in 2017 with no interest in coaching. Also, Skujytė has a son now, so there's hope indeed
  16. Please stop this agenda, I don't want all of our Heptathlon athlete hopes thrown out of the window with 2.80 Pole Vault marks.
  17. Look. I gave Vetter the bronze in the prediction contest and I was expecting at least 56
  18. That's actually a very typical problem in junior athletics. Underdogs quite usually outclass their more talented compatriots. If you start winning everything left and centre, you sometimes feel entitled to your results and you might put not as much work in as the fellow athlete that is trying to become better than you. We have years and years, pages upon pages of Excel files, showing how most of the Lithuanian athletes that are big today, have not been breaking junior records. Whilst those that have been breaking junior records, most of them don't actually stick it out to the end when shit gets tough, because they're used to having everything easy, hence their natural talent. We have so many 'promising' athletes that are floating around the world somewhere, doing heck knows what.
  19. Having 26 women still in Heptathlon before the final stage is proof enough that they're more resilient and better spirited than the men
  20. Sadly, nobody started naturalising Ugandans in Heptathlon yet A missed opportunity...
  21. Pretty poor results for Vetter in Javelin. Might have lost the bronze there
