  1. Must be something in the water. The quad doubles bronze medal match has just ended after four hours and twenty five minutes which makes it the longest wheelchair tennis match in history.
  2. A great day for GB with 21 medals including 8 golds. Mind you China got 23 so it's all relative. ☺
  3. Another upset by a Thai athlete. Seems they have a great wheelchair programme.
  4. Wow, missed the athletics as I was watching the rowing. Shocked to see Fearnley and in particular Hug beaten.
  5. Fantastic guts by Rachel Morris winning a gold medal in rowing after doing the same in road cycling back in Beijing.
  6. I agree. Even leaving aside the fact that they are the next hosts, my impression is that Japan is a country with a strong record on disability issues. My guess is that 2020 will lead to a change of attitude if not before then after the experience of hosting the Games.
  7. Not necessarily. Many countries are only just beginning to take an interest in Paralympic sports, so that we are going to see surges in performance as they identify athletes and invest in them for the first time. It's one of the reasons we see so many world records as the pool of talent grows from a relatively small base at each successive Games.
  8. Pazienza mio amico............Italy have started to build some momentum and I'm sure it'll come soon.
  9. Amazing by Kadeena Cox. A bronze medal in athletics yesterday and a gold medal and WR in cycling today! ☺
  10. It was never going to be anything other than transitory. China will finish a long way clear of everyone else. GB will finish a good second and I'm guessing Brazil, Ukraine and USA will battle for the next three spots.
  11. A bit of redemption for Cundy after being DQ'd in the same event four years ago in London.
  12. She's looking really impressive. Can't see anyone coming close to her.
  13. 38 countries with medals at the end of the first day. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/paralympics/rio-2016/medals/countries
  14. I think Mónaco might want to claim her as well with the Grimaldi name! ☺
  15. Good to see that 31 countries have already won medals and we haven't even finished the first day. ☺
  16. It is Giglia not Ciglia! Thanks for all the work with the results!!
  17. Not sure where 'here' is, but in addition to the sports listed by yourself and Gianlu33 I have also been able to watch table tennis.
  18. Given your country's great tradition I just thought para-athletes might gravitate towards paracanoeing now it's in the Games, but I guess it is to soon to tell. If paracanoeing is successful in Rio and Tokyo perhaps slalom will follow.
  19. Just as well for the parrot there are no shotgun events at the Paralympics! ☺
  20. I know canoe slalom is the Slovakian specialism but is there any prospect of future success in sprint canoeing now that paracanoeing has been admitted to the Games?
  21. Raise you one. 74 year old Libby Kosmala of Australia is competing in her twelfth games (1972-2016). Had it not been for an administrative error she would also have competed in 1968. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libby_Kosmala
