Badminton Qualification for Summer Olympic Games 2016
Griff88 replied to MantaRaymarc's topic in Badminton
@hckosice Btw, we need to change Women's singles and women's doubles player list due to Chinese team announcement Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei won't compete, they choose Luo Ying/Luo Yu instead. In this case, Akvile Stapusaityte won't play in Rio because one WS quota is closed due to this decision. -
Doping Cases and Bans Thread (2016 & 2017)
Griff88 replied to heywoodu's topic in Totallympics Mixed Zone
Calm down, Bro. The Russian state-sponsored doping is indeed really bad and this must be stopped. But imagine if you want to stop tree disease from a forest, destroying the whole forest won't help at all. We need to find a quick and effective way to eliminate this. My personal opinion is if we have to ban Russia in Rio, just allow the sports which has proved clean competitors only and do it as usual. Plus, I doubt there will be loud boos.. Brazilian President is the more likely target. -

Chinese team has confirmed their badminton squad: MS: Chen Long, Lin Dan WS: Li Xuerui, Wang Yihan MD: Fu Haifeng/Zhang Nan, Chai Biao/Hong Wei WD: Luo Ying/Luo Yu, Yu Yang/Tang Yuanting XD: Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei, Xu Chen/Ma Jin With the Luo twins selected, it means Tian Qing must stay at home. Plus, one WS quota is abolished (because Zhao Yunlei only play in XD) which means Akvile Stapusaityte won't be competing at the Olympics Source: http://www.badzine.net/2016/07/race-to-rio-luo-twins-in-tian-and-akvile-out/
