  1. Ranking event, and some athletes will qualify directly to Olympic Qualifier Series
  2. Igarashi out of the qualified athletes is a huge surprise. They got a "third quota" at last ISA Games, and the easiest quota, he is not taking it. Also, Huscenot is a big disappointment from France.

  10. That's the point, we don't know if she has to participate or not. As I said, she could just take her board and get in any competition, just to say that she "competed". As for the requalification, she can receive an invitation for next year, because she got injured. But it depends on WSL's decision.
  11. Actually, I was thinking that the women's ranking were counting with 18 surfers without Teresa. But, it is counting 18 with her. So, I think Defay don't even need to participate on the tour, to get her spot. May have a rule about being mandatory the presence in at least one event, so she could just take her board and enter in the sea, and the quota is her. Like some surfers do with the mandatory participation in ISA competitions.
  12. Robinson will take this Australian quota easily... he is in another level. Medina and Italo are in trouble for Brazilian competition. The qualification of two surfers from South Africa is an excellent thing for Boukhiam, whou couldnt compete in the first two events. Huscenot, Waida e Munoz, the last is a replacement on the tour, need to improve their performance quickly to fight for their spot. The women's competition will be quite boring. As you said only 8 eligible surfers, and this only because Teresa had the opportunity to compete. Otherwise it would be only 7 surfers. The top 18 is not a hard thing as well, because surfers invited cant count for the ranking this year. Even though, Defay needs to avoid the last position, which could take her spot out.
  13. The Men's quotas will probably be reallocated.
  14. Just for curiosity, the game will start at 1:30AM there in Poland?
  15. I am very disappointed about Brazilian performance on women's side. I was expecting an evolution from our girls, but looks we will have to wait a little bit more. This was the only event that we didn't win a medal in Tokyo. Also, Australia could have achieved more from this tournament. As for the men's side, I just missed Zion Wright, an Olympic skateboarder, and Luiz Francisco who went undersurgery and couldnt compete. The rest of the best were there. Clearly, USA, Brazil and Australia are dominating this event and discipline. , for some reason, doesn't have good athletes on the men's competition. I'd like to highlight the improvement from some athletes out of these big three. Glifberg is still in contender, I wouldnt bet in him to keep fighting for an Olympic spot. has also improved his participation with Nilsen. has a good team too. and have their representant as well.
  16. An amazing start for Fioravanti, he is obsessed for Olympics. Peterson also was very disappointed when lost the second quota for USA. Both will battle for these places.
  17. Open Qualifier took place today for women, with 28 girls advancing to quaterfinals. I got surprise when I didn't see neither Misugu Okamoto , Brighton Zeuner and Lizzie Armanto on the start list. This discipline stayed in a "Stand-by" situation since Tokyo. The first event should have happened in Brazil, last year. For some problems between World Skate and Brazilian Federation, both events were postponed. So, because of it, I don't have info about their absence. I think that Armanto retired, she is 30, so that's my guess. Brighton will compete in a Red Bull event in Miami during the championship. Why? No idea. Misugu is the only that I really don't have any idea why she is not participating. Coming back to the girls on the event, it's clear the dominance of and . Brazil qualified 5 girls, Australia 2, USA 9 and Japan 4, it means twenty athletes from only 4 countries. and also have one and two girls who received bye for this phase, improving the number to 23 among 32. Also, because of this gap of competitions, there are a plenty of new names, among all countries. Highlights to and especially which took a incredible third position with Naia Laso
  18. End of Street Worlds, and it's time for an overview! Aurelien Giraud is the new champion. He really deserved it, after that terrible judgement in Rome, where he already deserved the victory. is still in with Joseph Garbaccio (a great improvement) and Vicent Milou. Gustavo Ribeiro keeps his awesome moment, current SLS Champion and Silver Medal at Worlds. is in trouble in this discipline. Only Kelvin looks capable to beat the best ones. Giovanni is improving, but yet far from the top. There are a lot of other skateboarders on the line to get their spots had the worst performance at this event. Even though they have two good athletes getting it. Nyjah couldn't compete on this event due to an injury. The competition in USA is always complicated, but I don't think he is gonna have problems to make it. However, I believe the seven first Americans are capable to get a quota. Yuto Horigome, Olympic Champion, didn't even advance to quaterfinals, a horrible result from him. And the internal competition is getting fierce. Onodera will be a new superstar, and the other skateboarders seem focused to get their quotas. are in with one athlete each. Great performance from Richard Tury, who lost his spot in Tokyo at the last event. Decenzo had a similar situation, and could participate because of points conquered by, guess, Jhancarlos Gonzalez, in his national championship. Now, both are in the qualifying positions. Angelo needed some points from this event, and he did it. Justin Sommer is the new face among the current qualifieds. and are taking continental quotas On the women's side clearly Pamela, Rayssa and Gabriela are going to be our representants. Gabriela is a little bit old but she is improving. Rayssa is in her best phase, and we hope that she prolongs it till Paris. Pamela is coming back to the TOP, after a few not so good competitions. is gonna be a huge internal competition. Among TOP 20, there are eight japanese. Akama, Nishiya and Funa are one step forward up this moment, but there isn't anything decided yet. is stiil competitive. Candy, Ross and Keet are among the best, but only Ross looks capable to compete for a medal. if Brazil is in trouble at men's side, we can say the same here for USA. Again, it's clearly that United States needs to improve their level on this discipline. So far, Mariah Duran and Paige Heyn are qualifying. They are capable to get the third quota, but no one looks capable to fight for a medal is the opposite of USA. They are evolved a lot here since Olympics. There's a new star on the competitions Chloe Covell, who counts with the support of our former skateboarder, Letícia Bufoni. Other three girls are trying to take the last quotas. are taking one quota each. Spain had a really improvement internally. Daniela participated at semifinal in , but they have three good skaterboarders. The same can be said for Argentina, which has two girls in contender. Charlotte from France, Lore From Begium, Zeng from China, and Jazmin from Colombia are already known and their posititon on the ranking is already expected. The surprise is the girl from South Korea. is taking the continental quota. btw, it will be a huge surprise if South Africa does not take all the four continental quotas. The upset could happen in Men's Street competition, but Brandon is a few miles ahead of even him compatriots.
  19. And his scores at semifinal could have been even better. The judges at this event are clearly confused. Some strange scores, as always, giving points for athletes who hit their hands on the ground... And of course, some boos for ridiculous scores. World Skate needs to quickly create a good system to give points more precise for each trick. And keep an eye on this japanese boy Onodera... certainly the future king of this discipline on this path.
  20. Zuzanna Bone and Filip Szalak, both didnt advance from qualifier
