It is NOT a list of happy countries, it’s a list of countries that have lots of thing that academics like - welfare states, good public transport, windmills, crusty bread, art galleries, statues of mermaids etc etc. Back in 2011 someone did a survey of which countries were ACTUALLY the happiest.
