Yeah, like all sports in Japan, the clubs belong to the big industrial companies. They recruit lots of Pacific Islanders who qualify as Japanese after several years’ residence. But practically all countries in rugby do the same, even New Zealand. -
Indeed, seemingly this was the smallest (by population) country EVER to win an Olympic Gold.

Has anyone in the media mentioned the IOC's decision to take out the men's doubles? -
We won a lot of medals at the last Euros, so it depends how those times match up with the Aussies, Chinese, Yanks etc.
