  1. British tornados, like British blizzards, heatwaves & droughts, would be laughed to scorn in many other parts of the world. Only the sea-storms off the North coast of Scotland attain anything like global respectability.
  2. Maybe we should give them a special avatar or exclusive smileys or something?
  3. About 10 years ago when Australian Rugby League started paid subscription international streaming for all matches they always included match scores on the menus. They soon learned!
  4. BBC Commentators will be stuck in a basement in greater Manchester, with only a few actually on the ground in Japan. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-9723351/BBC-commentators-call-Olympic-action-TV-pictures-6-000-miles-away-Salford.html
  5. On The RFEA TV Youtube channel. Also on the Atletica Italiana YouTube Channel.
  6. Currently praying for a miracle cure, I think.
  7. Another national champs for you - . Starting tomorrow, to Sunday. And of course resumes tonight on the audaciously bootlegged Sprint King YT channel.
  8. Here’s the presenter announcement, (no surprises given recent coverage) but not many specifics about the rest. https://www.eurosport.co.uk/olympics/tokyo-2020/2020/discovery-unveils-star-studded-line-up-of-olympic-legends-for-tokyo-2020-coverage_sto8386350/story.shtml
  9. Sounds like it was the same live, but with satellite offering more catch-up options. The key thing is going to be how quickly the ES Player transfers live events to archived catch-up coverage. If it’s instantaneous, fine. If there’s a consistent lag………..life will quickly get tough.
  10. I think it is precisely those extra streams which are now ESP only. Come to think…..will I have enough HDMI slots in my TV?
  11. Ah ok, if that is the way your provider did it. My memory is that actually the 12 Olympic Broadcast channels we got on cable were indeed enough to cover ever single televised event (there were a couple of non-televised things like archery ranking day).
  12. The 24 Channels of 2012 were really only 12, but doubled up SD & HD.
  13. Yeah, we will have (and I presume the same everywhere else) 2 live BBC Channels & 2 live ES Channels, everything else on ES Player. Put it this way: during London 2012 when the BBC had everything there were 2 live BBC Channels plus twelve other live channels (not all active at the same time) to cover every single boxing bout, handball match, show jumping round etc etc. So if you don’t have ES Player, get it soon or miss out.
  14. BBC Coverage - they get secondary rights after Discovery / ES, so basically two live channels only. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/57597043
  15. I’m known all over the world as the most modest man since Jesus.
  16. Lots of national Champs this weekend, the last before Olympic Qualifying deadline day. & starting tomorrow. https://sport.tvp.pl/54041605/lekkoatletyka-mistrzostwa-polski-1-dzien-transmisja-online-stream-na-zywo-gdzie-ogladac
  17. This has been a quiet thread. In we don’t like to boast.
  18. See, the advantage that Hungary & Poland have is that they have already read the last page in the book. They know that all these wonderful pleas for love, respect & universal tolerance mean is that people who merely think men can’t become women just by saying so will get fired from their jobs & even jailed. So naturally, after having already had 45 years of that, they don’t want it back again.
  19. Only one hockey stick per case is the rule. Or perhaps they have enough to make an arc de triomphe over the front door.
  20. This thread rises Dracula-like from the grave as world media attention turns towards the events of winter 2019 in Wuhan. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9717133/Congress-demands-investigation-2019-Wuhan-Military-Games-athletes-showed-COVID-symptoms.html
  21. Not often Spanish domestic triathlon gets much coverage, but this one’s worth it, touch of the Alaphillipes. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9716601/Cocky-triathlete-pipped-finish-line-showing-celebration-rival-dashes-past.html#comments
  22. Does a pair of shoes count as one item or two, though?
  23. Not even Mars is as quiet as my street now.
  24. We got to the final of a World U-17 once, I’ll have you know!
  25. What’s that strange noise in the street? Why, Scotland have scored! I never thought I’d hear that sound again before I died.
