    Snow and wind in Ruka this morning, so the scheduled Ski Jumping round was cancelled - good news is that they did manage a provisional round yesterday, so that's going to be used as the base for the race later this afternoon.     Interesting remark by the Comms - apparently FIS have restructured their definitions of Cross Country wins, to reduce the impact of all those semi-wins in stage races with a start advantage, so Johaug is now put on 82 wins. Obviously prompted by Shiffrin on 99....

    The loss to last weekend was a real blip, everyone about 20% down on what they usually do. Maybe just not taking the opposition seriously enough.

    Just a little bump to remind everyone that, amidst all the excitement for other sports, the Luge Season starts tomorrow from Norway. Excellent - probably the best of all winter sports - coverage is on YouTube featuring some of sports' most ditsy lady commentators and a revolving cast of guest experts, usually featuring whatever lugeist is having a day off and speaks decent English.     Just reminded elsewhere: top 6 in the Worlds this year is an automatic first-tranche Olympic Qual, so that is the target.

    Think it is mentally difficult for the two teams with the Olympic place guaranteed and the pressure off, whereas everyone else is absolutely playing at 110%. I'm sure things will be better once they get to Milan.
