Kind of inevitable given the tickets are distributed by invitation. The crowds have certainly not been a highlight at these Olympics, even accounting for the reduced capacity.

Again, I totally agree that they are the deserving winners, and it isn't a close call at all. But if this was a competition of who had the best program I'd want them ranked pretty low.

I'm impressed by their skating, I just don't like it :P Still, this is absolutely a clear win, anyone else winning would have been a scandal.

I'm glad P/C are going to win this, they deserve it, but I sort of hope they retire because their programs are so boring xD

P/C are lucky their closest competitors don't have a crowd pleasing free dance (and that there is no real crowd) this time. I'm still quite convinced that the massive crowd reaction really helped V/M win in 2018, and a big part of that is that the program was just much more crowd pleasing.

My reaction to Canadian figure skaters these Olympics (except Messing, Schizas, Lajoie and Lagha) is basically this:

I’m more optimistic about Humphries winning a second gold medal than I am about Canada winning a second gold tbh. And I’ve always done the medal table g-s-b, betraying both my countries in the process :P And ya, a bunch of countries tried to recruit Humphries. She also came very close to competing for before she made the Canadian team. To her credit she picked a country she has an actual connection to. She also had good lawyers because, as someone who has become a US citizen through the same type of immigration process she did, her timeline was *fast*. Like faster than most people think is possible fast.

So heads rolled over the whole Humphries situation, right? I get she’s not the most popular figure in Calgary but she’s far from the first athlete to complain that the Canadian bobsleigh setup is toxic.

They got really mad about their 4th place finish at the Olympics and decided to just coach all the Olympic medalists for the next few decades.

Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon are getting a truly ridiculous amount of kiss and cry time. I think it’s shorter to list the countries they don’t coach than the countries they do coach.
