  1. The worst editions in XXI century for us were Vancouver: 5 medals (only 1 gold for Razzoli's on the penultimate day) and Sochi: 8 medals (but no gold). Turin was already a prelude to this bad period, although the number of gold medals was ok. Overall we won fewer medals at home than in 2002 and this was probably the only case in the 21st century when the host country won fewer medals at home than 4 years earlier, either in summer or winter. In general the years 2008-2016 were very bad in our sport, both in summer and winter. Only 2018 in Korea was a slight rebuild + 2 fantastic summer editions in Tokyo and Paris. in Beijing 2022 we won a lot of medals - 17 but only 2 gold (If it weren't for Gogga's injury, I think it would have been 4 gold).
  2. Tadeucci was very good and took bronze
  3. Yes, you are right. The fault lies on both sides in my opinion.
  4. Team Colturi live and train in Italy, not in Albania.
  5. Many Italian competitors, e.g. Goggia, Vinatzer, Wierer etc. In my opinion Colturi could start for Italy and have the same money now as with the Albanian flag. I doubt if the Albanian ski federation is very rich, since their entire sport is weak, let alone winter sports.
  6. Ceccarelli wanted to take money from the federation and train daughter in her team. The federation didn`t want to agree to this, because we are talking about a 16-year-old girl at the time. Private teams have stars with recognized achievements, e.g. Brignone or Goggia (they also trained in junior teams at the age of 16). In my opinion, Ceccarelli could have collected money from private funds, after all, with such successes of her daughter it wouldn`t be a problem. Tina Maze also separated from Slovenia at some point and created her own team. In a situation in which Colturi would start to achieve successes, then the federation should start to finance her team more + private sponsors. For me it`s simple.
  7. I think that It's a similar situation with Braahten in Norway but there are some differences: - he's an adult, - his mother is Brazilian, - Norway has a lot of talent in technical events (although of course it's always better to have 1 more than 1 less).
  8. It's just that Austria had a lot of skiers in that time and we don't have any others among the young ones now.
  9. You know, but we still don't know what that was about. Ceccarelli has a difficult character but still changing colors to a country with which you have absolute no connetions? What would you say if Iga Swiatek fell out with the Polish tennis federation and started playing for Luxembourg or Andorra? Certainly not everyone would decide to take such a step, even if they had to give in a little in talks with the federation. Another thing is that the Italian training system simply doesn`t work. As you can see, there are talents but we don`t know how to train them. Since the golden generation born in 1990-1995 (Brignone, Bassino, Goggia) we haven`t trained anyone who would stand on the podium in giant slalom or slalom in World Cup. So something is wrong. At the beginning of the 21st century we had a large group of good athletes in giant slalom (maybe not at Brignone's level): Karbon, Moelgg, Putzer, Gius, etc., who were able to win World Cups, win World Championship medals, etc. Now we have no one. In women's giant slalom for example: if Brignone and Bassino are gone, even getting to the first 20 in World Cup will be a problem for us.
  10. I remember that Lara Gut's family also had a conflict with the Swiss federation at the beginning of her career around 2008/2009 but it was resolved. I remember that the family also wanted to have a greater influence on their daughter's career. It was probably similar here. If there was a will from both sides, an agreement should have been reached. Especially since Colturi has zero ties with Albania. Sinner could have played for Austria sooner, as a person from South Tyrol.
  11. Did she negotiate with the Italian federation until the end? For me it is sad that we have lost the only great talent in this sport for many years. Since Bassino, we haven`t one in technical competitions in alpine skiing. Giorgia Collomb is the same age as Colturi and she has a problem to get single points in the World Cup. Basically, after end of carriers of Goggia and Brignone in 2026, our skiing will die. There will be only Bassino also over 30. No average Italian will waste half a day on Saturday to see Peterlini take 20th place and Rosetti and della Mea don`t finish 5 out of 6 slaloms in one season.
  12. I try to be objective and if Salvini does one good thing in his political life, so I can appreciate it From what I remember, Malago has already announced that the competition will be abroad (St. Moritz or Innsbruck), then there was an option from Cesana which Tajani from FI lobbied for and at the very end Salvini unexpectedly forced a return to the Cortina option with a light version. Mainly because people associated with Lega govern in Veneto (Zaia). Zaia has repeatedly emphasized that without the bobsleigh competitions in Cortina, these games are not profitable for the city. That's all I remember from this story. The government of Conte and then Draghi failed more here, doing nothing with the preparations for the games, which is why so much time was lost. The center-right government is defective but at least their ambition didn`t allow them to run away with the bobsleigh abroad. I think Draghi or Renzi would agree to this, to have peace.
  13. Until 2014 there were 2 heats.
  14. Good start for Italians but it will be very good if Colturi she would start for us
  15. Ok, but I'm not asking about Poland, just in general.
  16. Zelensky for Ukraine also has Polish origins? That's what I read. Even the last name is quite Polish.
  17. 4 Italian in 30 and della Mea in 10 places But of course there is still a second run and you have to maintain your positions or even improve them.
  18. How political parties do you prefer? Central- Left or Right?
  19. Biden also have over 80
  20. Her mother wanted money from the federation for a private team for the 16-year-old. In my opinion, this is also not entirely correct from a moral point of view, because only stars like Goggia or Brignone could afford a private team. They could have certainly tried to come to an agreement. Colturi has long been considered the new Janica Kostelic. They had to do everything not to lose her - give her money, but of course verify her progress after each season. Italy doesn't have much to lose, apart from Colturi in slalom, we don't have any important competitors and the national team has been standing still for many years.
  21. Peterlini 22/23, Resetti out. What is the point of this National Team? This group hasn't made any progress for several years. The same goes for the men's slalom. It would have been better to put all the money into private team of Colturi than to keep up this farce.
  22. Colturi should have been allowed to race for Italy in a private team. For me, this is the future on this sport, seeing how badly our team riders are riding from National Team.
