  1. Are a women's doubles a sure thing? Maybe Canada and China could get a wild card for a men's single to bring the relay team to 10? If they want to promote luge globally on the World, they should do so.
  2. An old and rather sentimental Polish song - perfect for such a gloomy January time.
  3. I don`t know that Norbert Huber is a coach of China Team So, I think that their women's duo will start in Cortina for 99% https://www.fil-luge.org/en/news/norbert-huber-a-south-tyrolean-leads-china-to-cortina
  4. This is what it looked like in Turin with the Ice Rink.
  5. In Italy situation it`s clair for today: Giacomel, Hofer, Bionaz, Braunhofer and Zeni for 99%. Unfortunately, Capellari is much weaker this season, so 5 place is a sure for Elia Zeni. However, in the relay, we have no chance for a medal: Bionaz would have to return to the form of 2 years ago, and even then, the 4 person is a significant loser in the skies: Braunhofer (today 24th, but with a 0) or Zeni. Bionaz is very good on skies- sometimes even at the level of the top 10-15- but for the last 2 years he's had a big problem with shooting in the stand-up position (today also 0+3 on shooting). It's a shame, because he's a similar age to Giacomel (his close friend, with whom he always shares a room during competitions and training camps), who once showed promise as a similar talent to he.
  6. I think about: Zawol vs Suchodolski.
  7. OK, but from what I see, there's little difference between the 4th and 5th place, so maybe it's better for everyone to get a chance? These people aren't competing for results right now, but they're learning for the future and also the IBU Cup doesn't have to be a something much worse.
  8. What`s a wrong with this situation, because I don't really understand?
  9. In 2006, the Turin metro was ready only about 4 days? before the opening ceremony, if I remember good...
  10. The skaters have different opinion on this matter... And earlier you cited Sighel's words.. If it would help them even a little, the organizer should make the track available to them now.
  11. I already wrote this on Casa Italia, that we had stars like Brignone and Goggia for 10 years and the prospect of home games for several years, we did nothing, even in alpine skiing... What's more, we also lost another star of the younger generation and maybe even greater than the previous two - Lara Colturi.
  12. First of all, they should be allowed to train our team on the track in Milan right now. Alpine skiing was only promoted thanks to the successes of Goggia and Brignone, but that didn't really help us much either... As for the results, sometimes such anger can bring better results than the general idyll and great atmosphere... Look at Giacomel today...
  13. First of all, is it surprising that Slovakia doesn't have a some girl in the single women? They're not even sending anyone to the World Cup this season, and there's a 99% chance they won't be able to field a team at the Olympics because of it.
  14. Giacomel has always had a great results at Antholz, so with this form, he can dominate there, and maybe Italy will finally have a hero, like France once had Fourcade, or more recently Marchand. I have dreamed of this all my life. And I think that we actually deserved it, that we have to spend so much money on host these current Olympics and only listen to some mockery from the journalist from the UK or the USA
  15. Rossi is still in the squad and will be going to the European Championships, so I don't rule out that he's still in contention for the Olympics. We'll see. I don't know if that's cruel? She simply didn't win the quota for country and her. Two or three years ago, Italy had other strong girls at this distance: Peveri and Marletti, but something happened to them, causing them to lose form or stop being called to NT tranings.
  16. I don't think they will do this combination, because Rossi doesn't really change much in the women's- she's simply too weak. We need much di Stefano to start in second man in the men's mass start, that`s all. I think Vigl will start in the 1000, though, as she qualified and is still training with the national team.
  17. Italy will field 9 people (assuming Rossi does not make it to the mass event as the 2nd person): 6 men and 3 women.
  20. And I`m not biased so I can write that both the 2nd Slovak, 2nd and 3rd Poland, and 2nd, 3rd and 4th Italian girls are so weak and doesn`t deserve to go in the Olympics. If there hadn't been a mixed team event, I would have sent only Annika Sieff from Italy. The rest had their chance and didn't take advantage of it. If someone has a problem to reach the top 40 in such a niche sport, perhaps she doesn`t deserve to go on OG?
  21. Italy isn't making any progress with Rodlauer: Sieff is in the same level as two years ago. Everything else remains unchanged. Jessica Malsinier is completely lost. Sure, if Lara Malsinier were here, she'd probably be in the 15th-20th spot, but that's still zero progress - she was already achieving such results around 2020. And this young Chinese athlete demonstrates that significant progress can be made in this sport. It is clear that Sieff was at her peak in the summer of 2024
  22. Unfortunately, she doesn't post much information on Instagram... Brignone posts something practically every day and you can immediately wiev if she's training or not...
  23. In fact, Poland probably shouldn't take 3 people either, even if they were to be relocated, because why would they? Austria's level outside of the top two womens is also surprising. Even China now probably has a better and higher level squad than they do, and it has always been a great power.
  24. Any news about Vlhova from Slovak sources? Because for now we only have Italian and Polish sources - unofficial.
