  1. Because our guys (Dunfee in particular) have been investigating Russian doping in race walking for a long long time, he would even help the IAAF catch Russians who were competing during their ban. And both Dunfee and Gomez have been extremely critical of Schwazer and were very happy when he got caught again
  2. Well yes it's almost impossible to dislike our race walkers unless you are Russian or Alex Schwazer
  3. Well in the last few years our 20km walk national record has switched hands between the three of them and it seems that one is always near the top of the pile. Would be awesome to see one of our trio get an Olympic medal, they are some of the most humble and funny guys on the entirety of Team Canada
  4. discus thrower Victor Hogan has tested positive and has been banned for two years http://espn.go.com/olympics/story/_/id/17077391/african-discus-champion-victor-hogan-olympics-doping
  5. Neta Rivkin (Rhythmic Gymnastics) http://www.olympic.one.co.il/General/Article.aspx?id=274203&siteId=1
  6. Why would she be pressured to pull herself out if Bingham and Hyacinthe weren't taking her spot anyway
  7. Also no Philip Osei, he had an injury coming into the champs too I think
  8. George makes sense, it was a big shock for her to finish top 2 in women's 100m, when she's been a hurdle specialist for years now. She was probably just getting more speed training and ended up 2nd. As for Bingham (and Hyacinthe!) not starting the 100m that is a more puzzling issue...

  13. BTW this was only the 3rd race after a 2 hr rain delay, the track was still wet making Rodney's performance even better
  14. He's had some injury problems throughout the year, but he had seemed to be back on the right track when he went 9.99 (-0.1) last night to win the 100m ahead of Aaron Brown (10.07)
  15. 19.96 +1.1 for Brendon Rodney to win the Canadian Trials Men's 200m wow!!! 20.32 for each Aaron Brown and Andre de Grasse for 2nd/3rd
  16. Pretty much, there is possibly one other Russian that could be granted eligibility, a female pole vaulter based in Italy
  17. Well they bought Latvian in canoe sprint so who knows lol
  18. Darya Klishina has been granted exceptional eligibility for Rio. She joins Stepanova as that now makes two Russians eligible.
  19. Wow, the Men's hurdles are also unkind to the favorites at the US trials, David Oliver didn't start in the final and Aries Merritt finished fourth. 20. I think there is always a chance in the half marathon with changing conditions, and if you aren't in good shape there's no chance. I'm hopeful Meucci from Italy can challenge the Africans.
  21. Fifa is another transferee from
  22. I'm pretty sure he hasn't got the qualifying mark of 5.70 Edit: Apparently he got it last month, but I don't see a record of that, weird
  23. Cale Simmons doesn't have the qualifier, neither does Tray Oates in 4th, it goes to Mark Hollis
  24. No Okolo or McCorory for the US 400m team. World Indoor medallists Spencer and Hayes didn't make it either. Allyson Felix, Phyllis Francis, and Natasha Hastings are going to Rio. Meanwhile on the Men's side LaShawn Merritt just blasted a 43.97 and McQuay misses out
