  1. Seen the Qualification document, which highlights the OQS, which has been well trailed. Does anyone know whether this has any pre-qualification, like Breaking? Not seen any detail on the UCI site or anywhere else.
  2. What is happening with the Grand Slam event in this sport? It seems WT tied everything to the China/Wuxi link up, but now China is cancelling any international sport for the rest of the year, this seems to be in limbo. I cannot find any web sites that provide up to date information other than 2022 Final cancelled, and wondered whether anyone else has seen any formal updates on what is happening going forward? It is meant to be a qualifying event in 2023.
  3. Really close result, with the last round moving GB into the Bronze after bad results for FRA and IRE. Half way through the competition today it was touch and go whether we were even going to make the qualification, so great result in the end.
  4. But there will only be 3 paddlers in this event. B.2.1 allows for a K1 athlete to double up in C1, and vice versa, if no-one else qualifies for the other event. But this same paragraph specifically refers to only these two events. There is no equivalent clause for Extreme, at least that I can see.
  5. Extreme Canoe Slalom - why do we not end up with only 3 paddlers in each event??? I am sure that competitors selected for e.g. WC1/WK1 can also race in WX1, but where does it actually say that?
  6. Has anyone looked through the system yet and worked out the likely participants for UOQT1, based on those who did not make Rio 2016 or Tokyo 2020 5v5? I make 25 nations excluded, so the participants will come from pretty deep into the 3x3 Ranking List, I reckon.
  7. Final confirmation is up for the Freestyle https://www.uci.org/docs/default-source/official-documents/tokyo-2020---olympic-games/bmx-freestyle-athletes-quota-women.pdf https://www.uci.org/docs/default-source/official-documents/tokyo-2020---olympic-games/bmx-freestyle-athletes-quota-men.pdf
  8. This is a link to the results from the 2019 European Cup, but I cannot work out whether it is the Duet Free (NED), Duet Technical (GBR), or combined scores (GBR) that matter? http://results.microplustiming.com/SynchroStPetersburg2019/index_web.php?s=Q2hlY2tKc29uRm9yTG9hZE9uTWFpbihjb2RSZXN1bHQsIHRydWUsIGZhbHNlKTs=&cat=ASF&page=002&spec=011&bat=001&td=CGR1&hg=&descIT=V29tZW4gLSBEdW8gTGliZXJvIC0gTGliZXJvIEZpbmFsZQ==&descEN=V29tZW4gLSBEdWV0IEZyZWUgLSBGaW5hbA==&descFR=V29tZW4gLSBEdWV0IExpYnJlIC0gRnJlZSBGaW5hbGU=&curCatSel_M_F=&sport=Synchro Whoever is not already automatically qualified should succeed through the Duet competition anyway though, so probably a moot point.
  9. No-one seems to have told about their Men's quota - only Bryony Page and Laura Gallagher selected and no mention of further selections. https://www.british-gymnastics.org/articles/team-gb-trampoline-gymnasts-named-for-tokyo-olympics
  10. Looks like the final rankings are up https://www.ittf.com/olympic-rankings/ https://www.ittf.com/tournament/2909/tokyo-2020-olympic-games/ https://www.ittf.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Tokyo_2020_MS_2021_06_01.pdf etc,etc
  11. Found the latest, as at 11 May, with to dcro (MTB qualification) for the clue. https://www.uci.org/docs/default-source/official-documents/tokyo-2020---olympic-games/bmx-nationalranking-women---as-of-11.05.2021.pdf https://www.uci.org/docs/default-source/official-documents/tokyo-2020---olympic-games/bmx-nationalranking-men---as-of-11.05.2021.pdf
  12. Are we safe to assume that the top 7 teams in the Mixed Relay (and so 14 Men and Women places) are already settled? World Triathlon ended the Mixed Relay qualification period as at 16 March 2020, and the start lists for the Mixed Relay Qualification event in Lisbon next week assumes this list is finalised (eg no Netherlands who came 7th, but Belgium in 8th is competing). 13. Can anyone find the Olympic Rankings on the UCI/BMX site? They used to be on the same page as the other World rankings (https://www.uci.org/bmx-racing/rankings) but seem to have disappeared. Pretty crucial to work out what the official position is ahead of the last ranking event and after last weekend.

  15. Update from UCI on how Qualification will finish - https://www.uci.org/inside-uci/press-releases/the-uci-announces-the-updated-qualification-systems-for-mountain-bike-bmx-racing-and-bmx-freestyle-for-tokyo-2020

  17. Does anyone know what the changes proposed were? And why have they not already been considered and accepted/rejected by IOC, given that there are continental champs happening right now?
  18. I am confused. https://tokyo2020.fie.org/ranks#tab-table shows following Ranking: Same site shows following Qualification: Why has Germany qualified, when Russia is the first NOC from Europe outside Top 4? Why has Korea not Qualified? I know this sayd provisional as at 3/3/2020, but there have not been any more competitions since then, and this is the official FIE site. Would appreciate a pointer as to where the official final rankings are, if not on this site. Thanks
  19. That's all folks! See you next year. https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/stories/news/detail/tokyo-olympic-games-postponed-ioc/
  20. Phelps, thanks for the link. This was what I was looking for to get confirmation one way or another - not looking to disagree. I still don't understand why they put the statement in for reallocation of Host slots in the formal qualification document if they did not intend to use it. Section F: "The unused quota place of the Host Country will be reallocated to the athlete from the next highest ranked eligible NOC (highest ranked male or female athlete) as per the Individual ranking results of the qualifying round of the 2019 World Championships".
  21. I think that USA Men get the unused Host Country quota for this sport? "The unused quota place of the Host Country will be reallocated to the athlete from the next highest ranked eligible NOC (highest ranked male or female athlete) as per the Individual ranking results of the qualifying round of the 2019 World Championships". After discounting 9th places for both genders, as they had already qualified, I make it that USA Men came in 10th, whilst Georgia Women came in 11th. Happy to be corrected, as this is one of the more complicated ones.
  22. Answered my own question as it is a limit of two per NOC that take part in the Qualifier - https://ifsc-egw.wavecdn.net/Editors/2019/i19_W2.pdf. There does not appear to be a different limit for those countries that have already obtained one place, eg Slovenia.
  23. Is there a limit to the number of athletes per NOC that can go to the OQT? I cannot see anything in the Qualification System that sets a limit other than the top 20 from the Combined World Cup ranking (excl those already qualified at the Worlds). I presume that countries that already have a maximum of two athletes qualified would not send anyone to the OQT (i.e. Japan), but could others, like Slovenia, send more than one even though they already have one place secured?
  24. Thanks everyone for your comments, which makes it clear now, at least as far as GBR is concerned. I agree this is unlikely but not impossible. I was mainly curious as it does potentially have a ripple effect on those that missed out on quotas because of Seonaid’s qualification.
