Qualification Tracker

  1. Rememer only a single boat per country across all categories goes to Tokyo, the highest ranked takes precedence. Only exception is if 2 boats finish first, they both can qualify; if a third crew also finishes first, then NOC must choose which among the 3 boats will be cut.
  2. Entries by name and boat for the Americas Regatta next week. Because of the qualification rules, I can see almost every NOC participant qualifying, and in the case of women events, even a women's quota being transfered to the final qualification event. Meanwhile I can already see and clinching a place in W1x, while should qualify in either women's or men's L2x, or even both. For Mexico, I should think Cabrera is a solid bet in M1x, unless Lechuga in W1x finish better than him (very unlikely) I wonder why Mexican federation dropped Alexis Lopez/Alan Armenta from LM2x: they were probably our best boat ever in that event and another chance to have more than a single competitor in Tokyo.
  3. Next week, the Rowing regatta is confirmed to be held at Puerto Progreso, Yucatan (Mexico) Let's hope either the local sports institute or the Mexican Rowing federation. Wonder why they didn't scheduled to be held in Rio at the same time that the Olympic qualifiers
  4. 2 direct, but up to 8 if needed, which I interpret, as having up to 6 reserve players to cover any player that obtain a quota from the remaining continental tournaments.
  5. 5 in each gender. 1 from every "regional" draw (East, South East, South and Central), plus the top ranked amongst the runner up of that draw.
  6. Wonder if the english speaking Caribbean islands bothered to ask for a tripartite invitatiton in this sports; they've been showing at continental events for some time now.
  7. According to prospectus deadline was February 5, so yes the entries on ITTF's website are definite (according to rules) Do you know amongst women who is most likely to end with the ranking quota?
  8. Well, thanks to Asia's continental qualification stupid rules, that distribute the available places one per "region", you may now add 2 free quotas in singles for Mongolia (one in each gender) and one for India in women's
  9. Exactly; why have the hosts join the qualification stage if they lack of interest in gaining a ticket will likely mean they won't field their best squad and directly affect other teams chances.
  10. Well almost every team that was expected to advance did so, Uruguay's today win also secured Panama's. Chile is also going to advance, unless Colombia pulls a miracle win over Argentina and Venezuela defeats Chile. The only unknown position will be contested by Cuba and the US Virgin Islands; of course that will depend on the Dominican Republic hosting the final "bubble",as I hardly see Canada lifting entry restrictions before July and Cubans won't be allowed in the US Virgin Islands either.
  12. It is, thank you.
  13. If it depended on me, I've uploaded them already.
  14. I agree with you; let's hope they can continously update their network with content.
  15. If no new contestant enters, can I have another try?
  16. Exactly, what's the point of having the leaders start first and then watch how almost nobody can overtake them?
  17. He's not inexperienced, he competed in Pyeongchang and has been competing this season in Europe. He actually has already obtained the results to be considered for a quota in Beijing, that's why my surprise.
  18. And instead of Rodolfo Dickson. will be again represented by Von Hohenlohe , now 62 years old.
  19. Indeed a bad change of criteria
  20. Also, the Pan American Roller Skating Championships just finished. If I properly understood the qualification system for that discipline, they are going to announce the quotas soon enough, according to "NOC participation", whatever that means.
  21. Fichman and Olmos advance to quarters
  22. Sharon Fichman & Giuliana Olmos into third round
  23. Thank you for the clarification.
  24. And that exit will must surely cost him another go at the Olympics, since he will lost many points as he reached QF last year
  25. Exactly, let's see how many wins by default or null matches in direct elimination events
