  1. Sadly Margarita Hernandez and Marisol Romero will not be selected as part of the Mexican to the Olympics, unless they manage to run under 32:09.00
  2. I made my calculations (considering the results up to the Asian And European Championships quarterfinals) and this is how the final ranking (before further reallocation) could look like World Ranking List - up to 34 places - Reallocation of Host Country quota - 1 place - If no tripartite quotas are awarded to NOC's from Africa or Oceania: & replace &
  3. If I'm correct Australia will need to reallocate 1 continental quota (they hold it both singles events plus XD) and USA in 1 event (they have the ticket in all 3 doubles events), which result in Canada receiving an extra 2 athletes; plus South Africa will probably reject the continental spot in men's singles, leaving the ticket to Uganda.
  4. Great news! I was doing some research and reading some news, and I found that Sao Tome & Principe Olympic Committee had attributed the place in Men's C1 1000m to its competitor. Doing some research I actually found that no competitor from Senegal did start in the 2015 World Championships, and therefore, that would make their NOC inelegible for the quota.
  5. Mexico (First Nomination) Men's Marathon: Ricardo Ramos Vargas (2:14.58) - just 2 seconds under the federation's required time of 2:15:00 Women's Marathon: Madai Perez Carrillo, Margarita Hernandez Flores, Vianey De la Rosa Rojas, Next nomination will be for the 50km Race Walk, at the end of the World Cup in Rome (May 7th-8th). The last cut will be on June 5 after the national trials. In other news, Diego del Real improved the Mexican record in hammer throw to 77.49 meters; even so, national federation ask for 78.00 meters, so he's not oficially qualified yet
  6. After failing to get selected to the Mexican team, bronze medalist in women's 3m Springboard, Laura Sanchez announced her retirement today
  7. Oh Jin Hyek, Olympic champion in individual archery didn't make the South Korean squad.
  8. South Korea named the teams that will compete in Rio.
  9. Indeed, that what the original document said... but it seems that World Rowing changed the criteria at the time around this event and the new version of the document reallcoates the host quotas to the Latin America regatta.
  10. I think for France to qualify, it needs there is no tripartite invitation plus a qualified NOC rejecting its place.
  11. is qualified too, since the host country place will be allocated to the men's competition.
  12. Congratulations!! Now you can finally get some sleep
  13. France needs 54.200 in uneven bars total to secure team quota,,, Jamaica almost qualified, just a 10.500 in vault, Ireland a 12.800, so only tragedy could prevent those two of reaching Rio
  14. Alejandra Teran gets the quota in women's epee I'm so glad, Mexico is going to compete in 5 of 6 individual events, plus team sabre
  15. After her top girl defected to the Netherlands, Iceland is competing with a girl with a Russian name
  16. You're right, I read page 2 of the start list... guess they have problems with live scoring
  17. First rotation starts at 6;30 PM according to start list
  18. South Korea hold the last available position for direct qualification, not counting Algeria who will get one of the African spots, and with another two spots will be awarded to teams, Argentina just needing to finish above one of the gymnasts in last rotation
  19. Congrats Germany and Brazil for the team quotas
  20. If Heeyeon Jeong scores less than 11.500, then South Korea might be the one country that isn't going to Rio
  21. Nice to see Guyana qualifying in men's athletics... too bad it ended Alvarez reign of two weeks as world leader in the event. Another Mexican runner achieved the national selection time in women's Marathon Madai Perez - 2:29:27, so Mexico will have full quota in women's, but no representative in men's,as no athlete have achieved the 2:15:00 standard and it is unlikely they'll do it before in one week, as the federation selected April 24th as the date to name the nominative places in Marathon.
