  1. Andrew Higginson with the coolest finish to pot the match ball with one second left. And he most certainly didn't rush the scoreboard
  2. Yeah, Powell had a chance for a late rally but was clearly rushed with cue ball travelling a lot of ground. Just no experience with time efficiency in this format. So that's one thousand pounds earned for Kowalski
  3. Elliott Slessor winning 7-1 is the lowest points total in Shoot Out ever or did I miss something? Also Chris Wakelin's defense ended in R1 but drawing Ali Carter right away was bad enough.
  4. Gotta love the race walk nitpicking. 50km is too long and boring! Hell, let's do marathon distance in walk now There will be more throws in field events now alas it's only a change for a change. At least this automatically means the longest marks will still win. Just no chance someone steals gold or silver from outside the podium with the last effort.
  5. Antoni Kowalski actually won his R1 frame/match
  6. And it's over. beat 1-0 & 1-0 and has qualified for Euro 2025. Just so happens it's Ewa Pajor's birthday today.
  7. I didn't want to jinx it after leg one which Poland won 1-0 but our women's NT might just qualify for European Championships for the very first time
  8. Most of these awards are popularity contests anyway. One can argue Hassan winning over SLL is equally nonsensical
  9. He won this award three times already. Probably wanted someone new to win it
  10. Goodbye single digit numbers winning in biathlon (in non-pursuit & mass start races anyway)
  11. Yeah, that is quite a surprise overall. Our women's handball has regressed since the 2010s. Or maybe Spanish women's handball isn't as good as I thought.
  12. / Ilke Wyludda (discus) passed away at the age of 55.
  13. Former snooker World Champion Terry Griffiths passed away at the age of 77.
  14. Botafogo won Copa Libertadores despite having a player send off after 30 seconds of the final
  15. Shiffrin will not race in the slalom tomorrow.
  16. Bears HC Matt Eberflus has been fired. It was always the case that if something goes wrong with Caleb Williams development Eberflus would be the first to go and QB has actually improved after a shaky September but the current losing streak if hilariously bad given the circumstances (Hail Mary, blocked FG and the Lions debacle). It's the first time Bears have fired a coach mid-season and they are in the league since the very start (1920).
  17. Bears "forgot" they had a timeout left and executed one play in 33 seconds so they didn't even kick a FG to force overtime. Clown show...
  18. They filed an appeal in the Sinner case and then went to CAS as well. This is still ongoing while Sinner keeps playing (until the season ended anyway) and there is zero noise he might get a significant additional ban if any. So it's basically lawyers exchanging papers to make their money. I expect the same will happen with Świątek
  19. I don't think so. Sinner got away without extra punishment so Świątek probably will too. I mean even Polish experts on TV said trimetazydyne acts like a "new" meldonium in all honesty
  20. build a big lead vs in the first half. Totally expected tbh
  21. Yeah, tennis is notorious for silent bans.
  22. Aleksandra Kałucka has moved full-time to Edinburgh (Scotland) where she will study mathematics
  23. No surprise with Aaron Judge winning AL MVP and Shohei Ohtani winning NL MVP awards. Ohtani is the second player in history to win MVP in both leagues. Frank Robinson (1961 Reds & 1966 Orioles) was the only one before.
  24. men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
  25. Ali Gholizadeh with another league goal today @MHSN
