  1. Shiffrin crashed into the netting in Cortina DH. Limping on left left so let's see how serious this is...
  2. Jan Zieliński & Hsieh Su-wei came from a set & 2-4 down, saved a CP to beat Skupski & Krawczyk 11-9 in the STB to win the AO mixed title!
  3. Expected and well, Zheng faced a lukewarm draw to get there since the top half quickly collapsed
  4. Sabalenka almost choked the first set away from 5-2 lead but Gauff choked at 6-5 herself and obviously Aryna will be a huge favorite in the final against a first-timer. Which doesn't mean much because it's the WTA after all
  5. Renata Jamrichova advanced into junior SF after beating Ksenia Efremova 6-2 6-1 @hckošice Jan Zieliński & Hsieh Su-wei will play in the mixed final vs Skupski & Krawczyk (so that makes it two Polish names in the final ).
  6. Women's top half SF will be Dayana Yastremska vs Zheng Qinwen.
  7. Anze Lanisek suffered a knee injury during training in Planica and is reportedly out for the season
  8. Detroit Lions beat Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-23 and will travel to San Francisco for the NFC Championship game next week. So in the past seven days Lions doubled their play-off win total of the last 55 years
  9. It's no different than ski jumping in Poland for the past 25 years. Obviously FIS is always hard pressed to elevate locations "east of Oder" but even they must realize the winter sports face an uphill challenge for exposure in the global media world these days so they should put an emphasis on locations where fans actually show up. At least nobody is talking about doing alpine skiing in Saudi Arabia just yet
  10. Baltimore Ravens beat Houston Texans 34-10 while San Francisco 49ers needed a fourth quarter rally to beat Green Bay Packers 24-21 in the first two Divisional round matches.
  11. I see some good crowd for the slalom. Ljutic is the only skier within one second of Shiffrin in the first run so far.
  12. Hector, Shiffrin and Robinson on the Jasna GS podium. 5.52 seconds gap was enough for a Top 10 That's basically a throwback to the 1980s
  13. Linda Noskova beats Iga Świątek in three sets so Zheng Qinwen might well make the GS final now. Top half has completely collapsed.
  14. Victoria Azarenka beat Jelena Ostapenko in two sets so both of the toughest opponents Iga Świątek could have faced before the final are out
  15. Top seeded Renata Jamrichova begins her junior tournament this morning. Just so @hckošicedoesn't think it's all over just yet 14 year old Ksenia Efremova (representing France these days) beat #5 seed Tereza Valentova in the first round. If you think Andreeva, Korneeva or the Fruhvirtovas will enjoy some teenage hype then you have to make room for Efremova before too long as well.
  16. Dayana Yastremska takes out the trust fund billionaire Emma Navarro in three sets. She hasn't looked this impressive at GS since 2019. Elina Svitolina is still in the draw...
  17. The goal is one thing but the goalkeeper really should have done better here
  18. Sabalenka really wanted that double bagel. Actually Tsurenko somewhat acknowledged her at the net now that the war thing is common bread for most people outside of Ukraine. She plays Amanda Anisimova in R4 as the American beat Paula Badosa 7-5 6-4. Mind you, Anisimova leads the h2h 4-1!
  19. Anna Blinkova needed 10 match points to see off Elena Rybakina in three sets. She also saved 6 MP in the Super Tiebreak. 22-20 is the longest tie-break in women's Grand Slam match ever.
  20. And now Danielle Collins said she will retire at the end of the season (she will be 31 yo). Let's see how that goes or is this an all-time overraction to this meltdown result.
  21. Collins with a huge choke. Świątek won the last five games of the match
  22. Former Dynamo Kiev player and Belarus NT coach Aleksandr Khatskevich became the coach of Polish second-tier Zagłębie Sosnowiec. It so happens they are dead last in the league, eight points off the safe zone Former BATE sporting director also became a sporting director there. Both are apparently anti-Lukashenka and fled the country some years ago.
  23. Shiffrin won in Flachau? That is like her worst slalom course historically
  24. 16 year old Mirra Andreeva with an emphatic 6-0 6-2 win over Ons Jabeur. Oh yes, those 16 year old Russians are coming and Andreeva has the mighty IMG agency backing so she's here to stay
  25. Bills beat Steelers 31-17 which was the most predictable result while Buccaneers finished the Eagles collapse with a 32-9 win. Eagles were 10-1 entering December and lost six of the last seven games since. There will be some changes in that franchise and I don't know if HC Sirianni survives this epic collapse. Divisional Round: Saturday: Texans @ Ravens (AFC) and Packers @ 49ers Sunday: Buccaneers @ Lions and Chiefs @ Bills
