  1. McGrath with one mistake on the top and couldn't make enough time despite being 0,50 faster in the slalom alone. Only Meillard can deny Haaser the medal now...
  2. Insane twisty at the bottom! This will be a bloodbath for the speed skiers. And Schwarz blows it there too. Lost 0,40 and Pinturault is handed a gold medal most likely.
  3. Odermatt & Paris skipped a gate on purpose in SG. Kilde, Kriechmayr & Crawford DNS in slalom... Pinturault vs Schwarz for the gold with only 0,06 between them. Battle for bronze pretty open with McGrath within striking distance to upset some odds. Strolz completely nowhere as he lost 2,48 in Super G and even finished behind one of the Szolloses
  4. BP with a record income profit in 2022 Obviously the war in Ukraine has made this possible. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-64544110
  5. Apparently Guzik has picked up a minor knock so our mixed relay team will be lucky not to get lapped The squad is Żuk - Jakieła - Zawół - Nędza Kubiniec. France goes with Simon, Chevalier-Bouchet - QFM - Jacquelin so they mean business.
  6. You don't have to pick all the races before Day 1?

  8. Like I predicted it took Thurnbichler five minutes after the Willingen fiasco to announce that Kamil Stoch won't travel to Lake Placid. Jakub Wolny who is having a terrible season won't make the team either. Habdas & Pilch are back on instead.
  9. Polish media report already that Jutta Leerdam won't take part in the Tomasz Mazowiecki World Cup in two weeks time We get Gronewoud, Nuis & Roest + some B team names instead.
  10. The boycott will do nothing like it did nothing in 1984. Five minutes after the war ends France & Germany will resume doing business with Russia and everyone who potentially thought about the boycott will look like complete idiots. I've seen this movie before. The NATO bombings in 1999 have killed any hopes Serbia will support NATO for the next three-four generations so there is that.

  12. Well, that was quick. Apparently Irving will be traded to Dallas Mavericks I know Doncic needed some help or else he'd be too exhausted come the playoffs but I'm not sure Irving has the right attitude to play the wingman role to anyone not named LeBron James
  13. WTA 250 finals: Hua Hin Zhu Lin def. Lesia Tsurenko 6-4 6-4 Lyon Alycia Parks def. Caroline Garcia 7-6(7) 7-5 For both winners it's the first WTA title. Parks won two minor 125s last December (and she's become a true indoor hard speciallist since all three events were indoor hard).
  14. Granerud wins by over 20 points from Kobayashi and Tande. Kubacki 17th, Lanisek 18th so the gap in World Cup is over 230 points now. Die Kuche ist almost gegessen as the Germans would say
  15. Granerud keeps running hot and leads after the first round. Kubacki down in 20th...
  16. Kamil Stoch failed to make it out of qualifying (51st place). I have a strange feeling he will skip Lake Placid next weekend...
  17. All Japanese podium in the second women's event. Yuki Ito takes the win. Nasty fall for Jenny Rautionaho while Maren Lundby also fell after a very moderate effort. Rautionaho despite missing in the 2nd round still finished ahead of Eilers who had two jumps
  18. A new Slafkovsky is on the way... Victoria Azarenka (dem yellow fluffy balls player) and her son at the All-Star game... Jari Kurri jersey sighting too
  19. Team Poland. If we get one Top 20 finish that was be a good result
  20. Morgan Lake beats Johnson-Thompson's NT with 1.99 in Hustopece of all places...
  21. Pia Skrzyszowska 7.78 PB in Orlen Cup. Only 0,01 off Zofia Bielczyk's 43-year old NR
  22. It's Willingen. 150m is moderate here these days. Yuki Ito had 154 meters in training last year which remains the longest official jump by a woman (though not a hill record since it was set in training).
  23. I remember Josef Strobl winning Val d'Isere downhill with bib #61 in 1994. He won one of the training runs and Eurosport stayed with the live coverage until he was on start and he promptly won the race The situation you refer to was probably Katja Koren winning Flachau Super G with bib #66 in 1993. I don't remeber seeing that live on TV. One year later Koren won Olympic bronze in slalom with bib #33. Or maybe Markus Foser winning Val Gardena downhill with bib #66 in 1993?
  24. Four Ekstraklasa games so far this weekend: Game 1: called off due to snow Game 2: kick-off delayed by one hour due to snow Game 3: no problems Game 4: interrupted after 30 mins due to snow. About to resume soon if anyone can see anything on TV...
