  1. WTA Linz has upgraded to 500 status next season. It was to be predicted given how WTA changed the rules and made entry into 250 even less possible for Top 30 players instead of just Top 10 players. There won't be many 250s who make this upgrade but Linz was always tipped to be among them. The only problem is the tournament will be held in late January/February so right after Australian Open.
  2. WTA Elite Trophy final Beatriz Haddad Maia def. Zheng Qinwen 7-6(11) 7-6 (4) YEC Day 1: Jessica Pegula def. Elena Rybakina 7-5 6-2 Aryna Sabalenka def. Maria Sakkari 6-0 6-1
  3. Lucas Braathen (alpine skiing) has retired at the age of 23.
  4. More like Russia diverting attention away from Ukraine IF they supplied arms to Hamas before this attack.
  5. Meanwhile it looks like Alexandria Loutitt has signed a deal with Red Bull so finally some extra money for at least one Canadian ski jumper
  6. Other than Shaq and his backside shake it was probably Tim Duncan's spin & fade off the glass
  7. It's just a 3-pt shooting contest most of the time and moreover, everyone is still more or less playing small ball. A center who can pass the ball is kryptonite in the modern NBA. And most opponents just want to outscore the other team than play genuine defense.
  8. Celtics vs Bucks is the popular East choice. Have the US media finally given up on the Sixers? They ain't winning anything over there. West should be Nuggets, Warriors and Suns with the usual Lakers hype mixed in.
  9. Craig Kimbrel basically blew it for the Phillies when they had the early series lead and the bats went cold in the deciding games as well.
  10. WTA Elite Trophy has kicked off in Zhuhai. Meanwhile Karolina Muchova has WD from YEC due to a wrist injury (she didn't play since USO anyway) and will be replaced by Maria Sakkari @Makedonas
  11. This season is as predictable as it goes but a minor plot twist as Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were DQ from USA GP results due to excessive skid plank wear. That guy from Pays Bas with a Belgian mother won the 50th Grand Prix of his career
  12. Yeah, I noticed the name coincidence and her age Arguably both Mesikova and Kapustikova made the correct decision to train in Polish clubs. After Karpiel and Rajda threw a tantrum and packed their bags retired our women's roster is extremely thin with almost no hope expected. Twardosz is slooowly getting back to quasi form after her injury but Przybyła looks miles off after her knee injury.
  13. [hide] Knockout Stage October 14th - October 28th, 2023 Third-Place Match Date & Time (GMT +2) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 October 27th, h. 21:00 Argentina 18 England Final Date & Time (GMT +2) Nation 1 T1 T2 Nation 2 October 28th, h. 21:00 New Zealand 6 South Africa [/hide]
  14. Polish teams are training in snow tunnel in Oberhof and well, Monika Hojnisz's "don't call it a retirement competition pause" has been extended to TBA
  15. Polish national championships were held this weekend and claimed 1-2 in the women's competition @hckošice See, who says Slovakia sucks in ski jumping?
  16. Alexander Shevchenko (aka Anastasia Potapova's fiancee) wants to switch to ?
  17. Whoa! England blew it big time!
  18. Well, the post-season was hardly a classic (especially for Dodgers & Braves) but the CS series look promising. Astros lost two games at home but then beat Rangers on the road three times and have the edge again. Phillies were 2-0 on Dbacks but Craig Kimbrel blew it twice and the series is tied instead of a sweep
  19. Anfisa Reztsova - Olympic champion in biathlon - passed away at the age of 58.
  20. Yeah, let's see if Neymar's injury actually turns out to be a good thing for the Selecao
  21. Historically religious wars were part of European Christianity but they all ended in the 18th century. One might argue the French Revolution was the last major European conflict aka civil war where religion played a huge part. But it seems like you're the expert on European affairs too so I will move aside. You can laugh all you want and well, maybe you will also enlighten us on Islam as well? It seems like you have the perfect answers for all questions so I'm all ears to hear your solutions? Because the take "Muslims shouldn't fight Israel because Hamas leaders are staying in luxury hotels in Qatar" ain't gonna work IMO.
  22. As long as there is no Palestine state those terrorists will keep on fighting regardless of where the Hamas leaders are staying. Since I don't believe they will accept the Israeli authority rule under any condition otherwise. Again, European Christians and atheists don't think like Muslims and then they are shocked their so-called solutions don't work or are ignored wholesale.
  23. That's an European way of thinking but not the Muslim way of thinking. It's a popular mistake repeated over and over again. Meanwhile Quran allegedly says the only way to avoid suffering in the after-life is dying in jihad or a martyr. And that is probably what those Hamas terrorists think, if they die in the war they will be rewarded in after-life. Not what a Christian or atheist would buy however they're not the buyers here in first place
  24. Joe Biden has cancelled the trip to Jordan to meet the Arab leaders. No surprise. The senile fool can't even bluff them with jack high at this stage
  25. I don't believe Stan Kroenke thought FIFA would allow a soccer game to be played on a too narrow field unless he truly makes all the stereotypes about Yankees not knowing a damn thing about soccer true Looks like another dick-measuring contest but FIFA wouldn't mind pulling the plug on SoFi Stadium if they have to.
