  2. Rumours are COVID is running around US Open. John McEnroe has tested positive and is in isolation. In addition to Thiem, Ons Jabeur also had breathing issues in R1 and she could be ill too.
  3. beat 3-0. The final set was no-contest after Poland blew all those leads in the first two. To think Polish media actually think Wołosz is the best setter in women's game
  4. Schmiedlova won the Slovak derby Meanwhile endures another upset result with Tsitsipas losing to Stricker in five sets
  5. flopping hard vs Blew a 16-12 lead in set 1 then blew a 21-18 lead in set 2 (lost it 22-25)
  6. Must be real bad if CNN hires non-American as the new boss? They really closed their streaming service after ONE month? https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-66656093
  7. Alright, Czech Republic has apparently lifted the ban on Russian & Belarussian players entering the country and Ostrava is rumoured to have joined the YEC chase (given how Vondrousova & Muchova might well make it). Obviously the ban affected Aryna Sabalenka who is a lock to make YEC (no Russians could make it though). https://denikn.cz/1222370/protivalecne-prohlaseni-a-zadne-symboly-vlada-umozni-start-ruskym-a-beloruskym-sportovcum-v-cesku/?ref=tit1
  8. I don't know how much the Ashe night session tickets cost but last night was massive overpay since the Minnen vs Venus beatdown was followed by Koepfer rolling his ankle after one game and somehow only retiring half-way through the second set vs Alcaraz
  9. Greet Minnen just destroyed Venus Williams 6-1 6-1 on Ashe night session. So much for that wild card to a 43-year old dinosaur but obviously she can return next year?
  10. Caroline Garcia bites the dust in R1 vs Wang Yafan. It wasn't even close (4-6, 1-6). It seems like Garcia is another so-called top player in serious decline.
  11. Historically Canada was never much good in race walking. It's still a sport dominated by Eastern Europe and Spanish-speaking countries. Australia had some peaks over the years but I don't think WA cares that much about them when it comes to pure business (since the plans to extend the season are purely business-driven).
  12. @MakedonasSome of these R1 draws are not random at all and the Main Draw was done behind closed doors so the organizers ain't even pretending they're juicing up the draw with some marketable R1 matches All this being said and Maria Sakkari becomes the first Top 10 WTA player to exit (4-6 4-6 vs Masarova). Meanwhile Iga Świątek lost exactly one game vs Rebecca Peterson
  13. Bol blows by Jamaica for gold
  14. Mahuchikh goes over 2.01.
  15. Moraa wins in 1:56.04
  16. reserve squad makes the W 4x400 final. rested Adeleke and missed out.
  17. 2:59.05 NR and 2nd place in men's 4x400 SF
  18. Agate Caune withdraws from the 5000 final. Niyomkunzi gets the replacement spot.
  19. Adopted by Polish immigrants family.
  20. Lyles & Knighton 1-2. Another medal for Tebogo! Hughes run out of it.
  21. Jackson smoked the field. Thomas and Richardson with the other medals.
  22. Kitaguchi steals gold with the last throw 66.73! Little probably takes away the medal from Kocina too.
  23. No sporting body provides that though. We're entering North Korea centralisation that way. Not a good idea at all.
  24. Kocina 63.18 and into silver medal in JV.
  25. Back to normal. Rojas in 1st place
