Yes had no hopes on him at all. His recent results showed that he had no confidence at all. Its sad to see our top rated baddy play so horrible.

May be he lost his hopes as soon the moment he found out kento memoto as his QF opponent...

But anyway medal is not expected from him

This disappointment has been completely covered by fantastic win by Satwik and Chirag

Disappointing performance of the day surely goes to Sai. Though our shooters should have done better but archery n shooting are most unpredictable, hence they get the benefit on their performances.

Hope Sindhu takes cue from sai performance and comes out firing on all cylinders straight away....as she has decent hongkong opponent in round robin matches to overcome

Even a blip like sai will keep completely out of olympics

Though have no medal hopes from her but she should move into knock outs and atleast till QF. Then on its difficult but not impossible for her.

I think most of indian action for today is completed except

Vikas krishnan boxing bout against japanese and

Indian women's hockey match against netherlands

Vikas should win and women's hockey is a no points in guessing. Though a good performance would boost their moral for next matches.

There were small off the field issues and speculations regarding absence of coach during Manika Batra's Women's Table Tennis singles match.

Rumours are that Manika Batra took her personal coach without prior intimation and her coach was not allowed inside the arena.

Manika Batra denied to be coached by the national coach. Not sure about it . But this is floating in the social media.
