God knows how many drones were actually send into Poland. Media are reporting new crash sites as we speak (some even 300 km from the Belarus border aka Lodz voivodeship).

Gdansk as well, I saw? That's not an "oops, missed the target by a bit" kind of distance neither.

Yep, NATO allies :)

Two F-35's flew over our house today, but I don't think they were involved in this, those are probably still stationed in or near Poland :p

Ok.

Gdansk it`s close to Kaliningrad (150 km?)... A few years ago I and my brother were at the lakes in Poland, so close to the border with Kaliningrad - we even went there in the evening out of curiosity: everywhere was empty and dark :yikes: But that was still before the war time.

Maoists have been the dominant political force. Why would they stoke it? Some of the internal groups not happy with status quo would be monarchists, Madheshi people of Terai region, other elites out of power like Rana family. Apart from these, there is a section which wants reversal to Hindu nation and a growing Christian population, both of whom would want bigger share of power. Just to clarify, not all groups, whether internal or external, would want overthrow of government. Some may want more rights, more power or a seat at table.

@heywoodu@copravolleyIt was actually found near Elbląg and yes anything close to that region was most likely send from the Kaliningrad Oblast. The cities are separated by mere 100 kms (so even closer than Gdańsk).

This is the old East Prussia territory. Or Teutonic Order land from the medieval times. The massive Teutonic Castle is located in Malbork to the south of Elbląg.

I read that Bhutan once had a large Nepalese minority—at that time abouy 30%? (30-40 years ago) and the Bhutanese authorities decided to simply get kick out this people to Nepal (removing their citizenship, banning the language from schools, etc.). The argument was that: the next few decades, this minority would dominate all of Bhutan civil life. Of course, Nepal alone has about 30-40 million people and Bhutan 700-800,000. I started reading about these countries after the news of Laura Dahlmeier's death in the high mountain in Pakistan. Nepal, of course, is Mount Everest and Bhutan is probably the only country in the 21st century to ban climbing their mountain peaks.

I recently watched on YouTube how the Third Reich tried to defend East Prussia against the advancing Red Army in the winter of 1945, but of course it was too late and they had no chance. And the terrain there is supposedly good for defense: lots of forests, lakes and rivers, etc. But of course you have no chance if someone has 10/15x1 more forces and you're fighting on two fronts.

Yes but the East Prussia province itself was one of the last to fall. Konigsberg (Kaliningrad) fell on April 9th so only one week before the last Oder offensive which started on the 16th. East Prussia was cut off anyway (Russians seized Klaipeda in January already) and it was an agricultural land to begin with so it didn't even have strategic value on the march to Berlin which obviously was the priority.

I hope U enjoyed the Masurian lakes trip though :p I'm pretty sure the Vistula Spit on the Russian side is strictly military area and it probably extends around the southern border of the Oblast too.

This year, I planned to visit Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, with a few days at the Baltic Sea, but I couldn't make it. And now it's a bit too late, because I read that Tallinn is most beautiful in June. So maybe next year. Then I can return through Poland: I have a lot of friends in Warsaw, so why not? The Masurian lakes are very beautiful – there are, however, some nice places with water ski resort in Poland. This year only Sardinia and Val D`Aosta, so nothing special - I didn't go anywhere outside Italy :P
