Following a shock defeat to Kocher in 2016, Geisenberger once again flopped in Konigssee sprint.

Never winning a sprint title on her home course will surely leave a bitter taste.

Yes, she will certainly cry herself to sleep for the rest of her life. Not sure how much athletes like Geisenberger or Loch care about such a „gimmick“ event (anymore).

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Someone as competitive as her? Absolutely.

starting 1-2-3 and finishing 1-2-3...

typical race on the German tracks...

Nagler&Malleier's result is basically a miracle, considered their starting number...

Sics/Sics are 3rd despite crashing!

Shades got pulled down after sled #5. WTF, why was it not done before the start??

Quite possible someone cranked down the refrigiration.

    • Perhaps CAS proper? Not sure, it's not my world. Would have hoped her lawyers and the USOPC would have though.  Though, even if it didn't stop there, apparently she was still asking for an "extra" spot, which isn't in CAS AH's jurisdiction either... as it wasn't in the IBSF's tribunals before that... Ultimately it was an internal USABS issue, and I'm sure they have some domestic mediation established to decide on such things, and failing that, then take them to CAS... but her team went barking up every tree but that.  To be honest, I really wonder whether she was even trying to win and wasn't just using it as a big PR stunt
    • Think for the relay teams can call up a replacement.  One of the people from the European Cup yesterday will get lucky.
    • UWW announced they are going to review the ranking points allocation. we will see if they come up with something good. the current system is terrible terrible and unfair. they also made few other little changes to make the ranking more relevant    I gave it a little thought, something like 50-55 NOCs will qualify at least one wrestlers before the last chance qualifier. they won't be allowed to participate in this event. we usually have something like 60-70 countries in a World Championships, around 80-90 the year before the Olympics.   NOCs without quota can send max 2 wrestlers to the last tournament. by my count something like 30-40 NOCs with active wrestling program will be left without a quota. if all of them send 2 wrestlers we will have 70-80 wrestlers across 18 events. that's average of 3 or 4 wrestlers per event. we may end up with only 1 wrestler in some events.     I don't know maybe this isn't that bad. this will encourage some weaker non-active countries to take the last chance qualifier seriously. everybody has a chance there. it will be a super weak event. unless countries start buying Russian mercenaries    also there is a loophole here. if you are a NOC with 2 good/solid wrestlers, it's better if both of them fail to qualify, therefore you can have two near 100% chances in the last event. but if one of them qualifies earlier the other one is out of the Olympics already.
    • Well.. that's a bummer not only for the athlete, but for Italia's chances in the women's relay.
    • Ah yes...I see cycling is just out of order alphabetically.  Also, interestingly they're calling it just 'Climbing', not 'Sport Climbing' on this page.   I edited my original list.
    • Interesting that this wasn't a matter of 'he was right' or 'she was right'...rather 'Sorry, if something had happened four days later, we would have had jurisdiction'.  (So who did have jurisdiction?)
    • https://www.tas-cas.org/generated/assets/lists/dceab111-07bc-435f-b5f9-de88eff9db72/CAS Media Release_Milano_Cortina_2026_AHD_03_final.pdf   And CAS Ad Hoc says it has no jurisdiction over the Uhlaender appeal, as it happened outside the window in which the Ad Hoc division operates. Presumably, finally putting an end to this farce.
    • lower the WR to 4.02:808 in the final.  That would have been the men's WR between 1993-1996.
    • That’s because 2 times Olympic champion, Swimming, doesnmt want to be overshadowed.
    • Sport Climbing Speed reduced the World Championship quota down to 1 per gender and increased the Olympic Qualifier Series to 6. Also the Pan American and European qualifiers will take priority over the World Championships because they will occur first.   Bouldering and Lead are now separate events and were given additional athlete quotas (taken from Modern Pentathlon) giving them 12 per gender. They follow the same qualification process as Speed, but with the Olympic Qualifier Series offering only 4 quotas. Additionally, athletes qualified in one event may compete in the other provided the NOC doesn't go above two athletes per event.   Currently this cross participation doesn't apply to Speed, but I'm not sure it was a mistake or intended. Though not many speed athletes are top lead/bouldering athletes.
