The entire CC/NC German team with completely inferior material for the third day in a row. Not the only team of course, but kinda sad on the home turf.

And honestly, I hope Johaug will quit soon. Women's mass start races are completely unwatchable with her on the start list. No climax, field destroyed after minutes. Tour de Ski 2021 was such a delight without her. ;-)

rumors saying she and her longtime partner, a former world rowing champion are considering starting to think about forming family right after the Beijing Games next year. So, I guess, that is the date she will leave the sport.

However, in opposition to the majority here, I really like her, always was kinda fan of Therese, and I will certainly miss her after the day she will end her career.

Greece made a big jump with their three lapped athletes today, Brazil won five positions and is not entirely out of it yet in terms of fighting for the second quota.

Is that a calculation by yourself? How many places between BRA and CRO/LTU in the sprint team relay are necessary for them in order to be 30th?

Yes, it's my own calculation. The manager of the Brazilian team makes one herself as well and before today, there were a few small differences, so we're not entirely sure who made a small mistake where :p

It's so annoying FIS doesn't simply keep this list posted somewhere, just like IBU they completely ignore a list that is incredibly important for Olympic qualification

This is the points distribution in top level team events:

Not to rain on the parade here, but based on the individual sprint results, Croatian team beats BRA/LTU by a mile. :p

But then again, Malec was scheduled to start today, but did no such thing. Though, I guess if they don't care for Olympic qualification, I should not either...

Imagine this producing a boy, who then ends up in a relationship with the daughter of Bjoerndalen and Domracheva and they have a child together. Mutant alert :yikes:

Good to know, that would mean, we could have more exciting races in the foreseeable future. My statement wasn't directed against Johaug personally, it's just the hope for mass start races which are not decided after 3 minutes :) though I don't like her either since her doping ban, she's cleary the best - by far, no question about that, but that's exactly the problem I'm talking about ;)

Oh I'm not expecting anything different, especially Croatia is quite clearly better :p

It's in this case mostly about who will and won't start and see if it's possible to gain a spot somewhere. I'd still say the chance is small, but not entirely non-existent. Also, there is the reallocation thing, with unused quotas being distributed from the top of the nations ranking downwards. This probably won't end up helping the likes of Brazil to a second ticket, but it'd suck badly to not have tried it and then seeing simply finishing a race would've been enough.

Thanks. So that means, if the smaller nations don't make calculations for themselves, they are completely left in the unknown about Olympic qualification and have to wait whether their federations receive a call from the IOC after qualification period ended?! Strange.

One could imagine at least the federations are kept up-to-date, but considering the fact this high-up woman in the Brazilian federation is doing it manually as well, I highly doubt that...strange indeed.

    • Yes, he is ones of the first supporters of Milei, owner of one of the most important stock market of Argentina (Bull market), he was peronist and for "unknown reasons" start to be libertarian.   Even being libertarian in my case, i have to admit that him is one of the dumbest of "Milei supporters" and a clown when  he is in TV, he made me feel  embarrassed in many occasions.   Camila Giorgi being with him is.......inconceivable.
    • Ya but the replacement is Pat Bondi, a choice that is only better in so far as Pat Bondi isn't credibly accused of having had sex with multiple underaged girls.   Also, you might recognize this name: Pete Hoekstra has been nominated to be the US ambasador to Canada.
    • Camila Giorgi has a new BF Ramiro Marra. Apparently he's some politician/journalist from Argentina. One of Milei's supporters dare I say? @LDOG@konig

    • But he beat Mouat, who seems to be almost unbeatable
    • Argentina has a really solid lineup, especially if they have prepared seriously for this event. Of course they don't have a champion like we do, but in this format it is enough to win 1 match to play the decisive doubles.
    • Today we must to beat Argentina. It looks like Sinner will have to win all the singles and doubles for us to defend the title. So far, the 2nd and 3rd favorites before the tournament have already been eliminated: Esp and USA.
