His preliminary scored got corrected to 37.2. Enough to put him in front of Donckers and back in 2nd place.

Ouch. That was a bad round for poor Cathal Daniels.

 

His mare just didn't want to play... He ends up on 84 penalties. It's a miracle that he avoided elimination after so many refusals.

Jonty Evans - Now that's how you celebrate breaking 40 penalties for the first time.

 

 

 

Meanwhile, Burton's score of 32.9 is the best dressage score at Badminton since 2002. So, that's the best score since eventing's complete make-over in 2004.

Cross-country starts today at 11:30 British time (12:30 CET). Looks like the optimum time will be 11:46.
