Milano Cortina 2026 - General Discussion

Recommended Posts

I joked with my wife, that her scores would come up, and if it said that she was just 0.00000000001 points below gold, she'd be like, 'Sick!  Congrats Ami/Kaori!' and keep on smiling. :)

(Now, I hope that's truly her mentality and her not just putting it on...after all, we saw a new Ilia in the individual.  But I think what we see is what we get with her.)

Agreed. This isn't her first rodeo either so she knows how to handle it mentally. Ilia didn't.

What a Thursday!! Women's hockey gold and women's figure skating gold all within an hour or so!

Need one more gold medal to break that string of 9 golds at WOG.

What a night we had indeed!

Here's what's up for today:

W Ski Cross will be finishing up around 07:15 (We didn't send anyone to this event, though we had qualified athletes.)

M Aerials Finals are at 07:30-08:45ish - We have a couple of guys here

08:05 - W Curling SF vs. :SUI - Can we repeat, please? :)

08:15 - M Biathlon Mass Start - Campbell's last chance...rooting for you, bud!

10:30 - W 1500m Long Track - Can Bowe bring one home for the ladies?

13:05 is the M Curling BMM, for anyone interested

13:30 - M Freeski Halfpipe Finals - We've got 4 guys here - can we top the podium?

14:15-16:10 - Short Track - W 1500m, M 5000m Relay - I hope our ladies can have some success here!

15:10 - M Ice Hockey SF vs. :SVK

Anyone know why we didn't send athletes for ski cross?

Because we are not very competitive and I believe a nation was limited to 32 participants across all Freestyle Skiing events.  I believe we had at least 1 or 2 quotas for both, but declined them.

Anyone know why DelDuca is running last in the 4 man heat 1?  I thought the order was tied to training runs.  He was pretty consistent with a top 10 time.

I think it's tied to world rankings and Del Duca is 23rd in that

Another good day! Gold in M Freeski Halfpipe, and an unexpected but much welcomed Bronze in W Short Track.  Not to mention we're headed to the GMM in Hockey as expected.  Our W Curling team will also be playing :CAN but for the bronze medal.  Our #1 bobsled team is 0.23 sec behind the Germans...c'mon ladies tomorrow!  (I'll ignore Campbell Wright's last place finish today, missing all 5 shots on his first standing shoot...uf!)

Tomorrow - last full day!  Here's what's it has in store:

04:00 4-man Bob starts

04:45/05:45 Mixed Team Aerials Final 1/Final 2 (I don't think we're likely to make Final 2)

05:00 M CC 50km Mass Start

06:00-07:20 - M Ski Cross (again, no entries here)

07:30 SkiMo Relay

08:05 W Curling BMM vs. :CAN

08:15 W Biathlon Mass Start

09:00-11:30 M/W Mass Start SF/F - Might Jordan Stolz snag this one?  And what about Manganello for the W?

13:00 2-Woman Bob Run 3

(13:05 M Curling GMM)

13:00 W Freeski Halfpipe Finals

(14:40 M Hockey BMM)

15:05 2-Woman Bob Run 4 - C'mon Kaillie!

Glad you were wrong on this 🤩. Almost the definition of a team event.  No US jumper had the highest scores, but as a team, they came through. Swiss men had two highest scores, China had highest woman’s score.
