voted :USA, but I fear :GER

don't trust :NOR this time, they're no longer dominant in biathlon and women's cross-country skiing to win enough gold medals

I would say Germany, but it depends on the Nordic sports; the other real contender is the United States. With the right combinations, keep an eye on France, which could be the real surprise of these Games.

I don't expect anything from Norway: many retirements, too many scandals, declines in some athletes and in some sectors. It won't be a happy Olympics for them.

Nerherlands would need to learn to do something more than skate to have a chance

Another interesting question would be, who will win medals in the most sports? In 2022 it looked like this:

Norway, Canada, Germany: 9

USA, Italy: 8

China, Sweden, Austria, France: 6

As long as Canada improves on its disappointing 4 golds to get on the leaderboard again, I'll be happy. Well, there's a lot more I want to happen to be happy, but it's a start.

Between the three favorites the changes between 2022 and 2026 favor (for gold, which is the decider) :

- ski mountaineering : none

- luge double W : :GER, slightly less :USA

- skeleton team event : :GER, maybe :USA

- ski jumping large hill W : :GER :NOR

- parallel moguls W and M : :USA

- alpine skiing team event + combined replaced by team combined : status quo

- absence of :RUS : :NOR, less so  :USA

Even-handed all in all, maybe a bit less favorable to the US.

That's probably why they resorted to doping on a larger scale before 2014? + a lot of naturalizations, etc. I didn't remember them doing so poorly in 2010. I don't remember much about those Olympics.

Now I see that Canada won the medal table in 2010 in Vancouver, that`s why your home games were great. This effect was continued in 2014 and 2018. This is crucial. Italy will likely fail to host two home Winter Games in the 21st century and that's a scandal. I started looking at the results of the host Winter Games in the 21st century and each one won more medals at home than 4 years earlier. The only exception is Italy in 2006 compared to 2002. This time, it could be similar, as the 17 medals from 2022 will be difficult to beat with the string of injuries on our team.

    • Very familiar with all 3! Masterpieces as usual from John Williams
    • Wow, Norway really wants nq after couple of horrible selections in recent years.    For some reason all love Serbia's song, but to me it's borderline (we've seen all the hype from Luke Black, and his final result).    Finland made the only right decision,    Italy - WTF? Like this song is fucking outdated. I don't mind when it's nostalgic, but this is just horrible song for Eurovision. How could you not send Ditonellapiaga who by far destroyed everyone with the staging?    Bulgaria - messy as hell, I expected more from Dara since I knew her beforehand. There are some catchy parts, but they did not sound cogesive at all.    Germany - great job, although public vote didn't like neither those songs neither Germany.
