I notice we have had no team or relay events this year - don't know if this is intended to be permanent, or is just a temporary thing to allow the new format to get settled down.

Starting from this Year UIPM introduced a new "dedicated" world championship for Relay event.

 

I presume world cup final qualification is for the individual athletes based on their results in the WC tours, it does make sense to remove the relay event from WC final too.

The media coverage (even within UIPM) shows how important is the future of this event, no broadcasting, even live scoring on app was off and only full results populated at once.

 

unless UIPM created some sort of boosting to the relay competition, this event fate is in doubt.

 

would be very difficult to do so but the only boosting process in my mind is to convince IOC with additional medal event (Mixed relay for example) .. I know what would be the response from now
