well, at least there's an explanation (I'm not watching, unfortunately) that 4.19 looked so strange... however, justified or not, this is an awful outcome for us -

The Italian team had a crash so not surprising they missed the medal matches -
the real disaster for ITA comes from the women's team pursuit, they won with margin the qualifying round and then they were thrashed by GBR in the second round and didn't even make it through to the bronze medal ride and they were almost in their top formation 🤦😤🤬

looking at the start list and results, it was like a C or D team and moreover they gave up at the end (when they were already way down the ranking, 3 secs behind DEN after 3kms, however) most likely, they were already in the 3-man formation and one of them collapsed with still 1km to go

To be entirely fair, South Tyrol going back to Austria doesn't exactly sound terrible Although not great for Italy I suppose, losing arguably their safest region of the country. -
