Men's American Football NFL 2024

Houston Texans beat LA Chargers 32-12 in the first wild card. Texans played crap for 20 minutes but Chargers only kicked two FG early and did even less after that save for one TD heave when down three possessions. The extra point was blocked and returned for a 2 pt defensive touchdown.

Baltimore Ravens beat Pittsburgh Steelers 28-14 in the second AFC wild card game. The game wasn't even that close as Ravens dominated with 298 rush yards and led 21-0 at half-time.

Sunday recap:

Buffalo Bills beat Denver Broncos 31-7. Broncos kept it close in the first half then missed a FG as half-time clock expired and did nothing in the second half. Bills vs Ravens showdown in Divisional round incoming.

Philadelphia Eagles beat Green Bay Packers 22-10. Packers offense and special teams were putrid, Jordan Love had 3 INT and once again looked mediocre (duh) vs a contender.

Washington Commanders beat Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20 in what was expected as the closest game of the lot. Zane Gonzalez hit a GW FG off the post as clock expired. It's the first playoff win for Washington (then Redskins) since 2005 season.

LA Rams beat Minnesota Vikings 27-9 in the last wild card game. Terrible play from Sam Darnold for the second week in a row and he cost himself millions since I reckon they will roll with JJ McCarthy from next season like originally planned when they drafted him in the first round.

Chiefs beat Texans 23-14 and Commanders upset Lions 45-31 after five turnovers from the #1 NFC seed. This is the first time Commanders made NFC Championship game since Desert Storm so yeah, Dan Snyder must be thrilled the team is back to relevance the first season he sold the team :p

Eagles beat Rams 28-22 in a snow game behind a superior running game and Buffalo Bills fend off a late Baltimore Ravens comeback to win 27-25 (Mark Andrews dropped a gimme 2 pt conversion that would have tied the game with 90 secs left).

So the Conference Championship Games are: Commanders @ Eagles & Bills @ Chiefs next weekend.

No surprises in conference championship games so we have another Chiefs vs Eagles Super Bowl (happened two years ago too). The main difference is Eagles have Saquon Barkley this time...
