Selina Grotian is the 6th youngest World Cup winner among women (20yo 8 months).

:NOR Elin Kristiansen remains the youngest at 19yo 6 months (Anterselva 1988 sprint). Magdalena Neuner is the only other athlete to win before turning 20yo (19yo 11 months). Uschi Disl (20yo 1 month), Svetlana Davidova (20yo 3 months) & Martina Glagow (20yo 4 months) were also younger.

Thanks, great stat! Tannheimer wont turn 20 until August 2025, so she has The whole Season To Join Kristiansen and Neuner. Too Bad that she was ill this week. I think Galmace Paulin and Tänglander could also do it.

I think Grotian (born 2004) is The First female Biathlete born after 1999 To make a World Cup Podium. On The Mens side multiple Athletes (Perrot, Giacomel, Uldal) have already done it.

E. Öberg was 22 and a half when she First won.
Dahlmeier was 21 and a half.

Edit: Grotian only narrowly missed The Podium in The Individual at The 2024 World Championships when she was still  19 year old.

The truth is that the entire Italian biathlon depends on one Vittozzi, who is not sure if she will return this season and her form is also questionable, because the rest of the Italian team is running poorly. Wierer is old and will never win again - she is running weaker and weaker and what is worse: she is shooting poorly. The rest of our team is running too weakly to count on any successes in the future. I don`t believe that Auchentaller or Comola will suddenly make a big progress in the run track, e.g. to the top 10, since the young French women are already much faster than them.

Italy is much better in alpine skiing, in The end all Nations have a Limited Talent Pool. Norway is far better than Sweden/Finland in Cross-Country skiing, alpine skiing and Biathlon, but Sweden/Finland are far better in ice Hockey.
Great Britain wins far more medals than Germany At Summer olympics, but GB is also inexistant in Winter Sports and Most popular Team Sports (Volleyball, Handball, Basketball, Ich Hockey).

Alpine skiing also we have a lot of problems: the men's team is very weak and has been winning a few podiums a season for several years and the our best skier- Dominik Paris is 35. We still have a strong women's team but 3 of the 4 leaders are over 30 (Goggia, Brignone, Curtoni) and Bassino is 28. Another 2 years and we will have the same problem as the men's. There is basically no cross-country skiing without Pellegrino for many years, biathlon is based on 2 individuals with one of them has a 35 years. Vittozzi's injury was enough and we haven`t a single podium this season after 3 stages of the World Cup. As for 1 year to the home games the situation isn`t optimistic.

Likely for Tannheimer, quite unlikely for Galmace Paulin. She's far from being assured to even start in the WC before turning 20. Basically she'd have to get a spot this season, which could actually happen if she takes the extra-ticket at the JWCH. Anyway I don't see her making her way to gold in Oslo. Tänglander has a few seasons to do it, we'll see.

Quite surprisingly so, indeed. Barring her horrendous finish Richard would have made it 2 in one go. We should have some more names in the list in 2025.

Biathlon: I think your Coaches should promote Scattolo.
Alpine skiing: Things Would Look very different if Colturi would Compete for You.

Maybe Galmace Paulin can take The Spot of Richard, Michelon or Chauveau later this season. In Hochfilzen France Had 7 Spots, not sure What happened. If The french Team can get Back that Spot, then Galmace Paulin should be The First candidate.

Tannheimer, Michelon, Richard, Kirkeeide and Andersson are all more likely than Not To make The Podium this Season in my opinion. With a bit of luck, half The Top 10 in The Overall Ranking at The end of The Season could be athletes born in 2002 or later.

That was the IBU Cup winner spot, guaranteed for the first two weeks (won by Michelon last year).

Galmace Paulin will definitely not get a spot in January. If someone has to be demoted, it would be Chauveau, to make room for Botet. Galmace Paulin is like 5th or 6th in the pecking order at the moment.

It's true, but Colturi still only 1 person and for example in the men's slalom we have tragic results. In giant slalom again we last won many years ago. For example, Switzerland has a complete team, which has not only stars but also wide teams in every discipline + young successors.

Scattolo is an option after 2026. For now, all that remains is to count on Vittozzi's return - apart from her, no one is able to regularly stand on the podium.
