Men's Volleyball FIVB World Championship 2025

In 2022, we played France in the 1/4 final and now again? I don't like this format. It's almost certain from the start who will face each other in the 1/4. On top of that, Poland in ewentually 1/2 and Brazil has an almost certain path to the final...

Poland, Brazil, France.

Unfortunately, if we don't win a medal, it will be a major setback from 2022. The bracket is difficult, but we can't keep losing to Poland and France, every time. Three years ago, our young team won a sensational gold medal, but for three years, they haven't made any progress. De Giorgi looks like a schoolboy compared to Velasco.

To be fair, De Giorgi doesn't have Egonu or Antropova. :p

Romanò and Lavia were sensational on that occasion, but they haven't replicated that performance since this tournament. The rest of the team looks good, but not good enough to beat teams like France or Poland.

Brazil seems to have a big problem for this tournament: the OHs. We have a great setter, opposite, libero, and good enough middle blockers, but Bernardo doesn't seem to have found the best solution for the OH position yet.

We're taking five, and I think all possible combinations have been tested in the friendlies, and none seem to be stable. Arthur is probably the most likely starter; the rest... Well, we'll see.

We have junior medals in every age group for many years, just like in the women's category. I don't see why we should feel inferior about France... Fefe is a weak coach – a complete boomer who wears down his teams. Two years of coaching is too much for him – and he's been with us for five years now... It's no coincidence that things are getting worse and the number of injuries is increasing, because he's physically devastating the team. Okay, we don't have Egonu, but we do have Michieletto... In women we have a dominant OP, in men we have a super OH, but we lack a classy OP. Nevertheless, Mazzanti, a poor coach before Velasco, had Egonu and also later Antropova, but he destroyed the team's atmosphere and didn`t won nothing.

Libya did very well against Canada this morning :surprise: Turkey leads Japan 1:0 and Portugal evens it with Cuba.

Save to say the Men's WCH has a bit more depth than what we saw with the Women :d

For me still the best chances to win a gold.
