Poland's third woman has results very close to the Slovak girls, maybe a bit better with some national bias ;) , and the Olympic Games might serve as farewell to her career.

I can't promise anything but don't lose hope.

Yeah, I'm a bit biased as well. ;)

And I`m not biased:lol: so I can write that both the 2nd Slovak, 2nd and 3rd Poland, and 2nd, 3rd and 4th Italian girls are so weak and doesn`t deserve to go in the Olympics. If there hadn't been a mixed team event, I would have sent only Annika Sieff from Italy. The rest had their chance and didn't take advantage of it. If someone has a problem to reach the top 40 in such a niche sport, perhaps she doesn`t deserve to go on OG?

FIS changed the additional +4 (45+1 ITA+4) quota rules a month before OG. Total joke. The "big" nations are now eligible to receive the 4th quota if someone resigns from their quota. Tkachenko, Rygl, Kapp & Lyu are currently the four on the reserve list (Kapp could still take Aigro's spot if the latter doesn't recover from the Ga-Pa injury).

It's not the 45+1 rule that changed. Only the interpretation who is eligible for the reallocation of unused quota places. Until now, we had "Maximum NOC quota reached (3)" for the men's reserve list. 3rd Kazakh and 2nd Czech has been dropped from 1st and 2nd respectively in the order down to 9th and 12th now.

Yeah, I meant the "+4" part only. The original allocation was supposed to promote potential duets so 2nd athlete from a smaller nation was supposed to be prioritised over 3rd or 4th from a bigger nation. Not the case anymore.

The +4 part stays the same. 2nd :UKR:EST:TUR and 1st :CHN still get their quotas. What changed is that the previously unused quota would go to maximum 3rd :KAZ:CZE:EST:CHN etc but now instead they will go to 4th :NOR:JPN:POL etc.

@KerkunWhat happens with the 2nd :EST in case Kapp takes Aigro's spot? That means :NOR gets the 4th quota? (pending no changes in Top 25, after Four Hills Stoch moved ahead of Kubacki so quota didn't change).

Nothing changes as the quotas are for their NOCs, not for a certain ski jumper. Vagul and Kapp would potentially go the Games if Estonia decides to send them at all.

Rygl got 18th place in Sapporo CC and jumped Song for 50th place in the OG ranking.

And Song Is back on 50th place. Morover there is another race tomorrow in China without Rygl :-(

    • I am assuming the FIS will fight very hard to keep it.   From a substainability standpoint it also really doesn’t make that much sense to axe Nordic combined as long as ski jumping is in the games anyway. For the same reason that all three sliding sports are basically a package that will live and die together.

    • I can’t see it being kept. Unless some very important  people have asked for it.
    • First event at the World juniors (team events) had 6 nations win medals.
    • I hope they keep it. Even though the sport doesn't exist in Slovakia at all, it's still very exciting to watch.
    • will miss this stage because of the Middle East war, since the flights with Qatar Airways have been cancelled and can't be replaced in time (especially for the bicycles)
