This tends to happen in semi finals. Those at the front are easing down as they know qualification is safe. Only those on the cusp or outside the qualifying spots are going full gas.

You mean the move with about 32 laps to go, when the US pulled back up to us and promptly sat on our wheel, contributing nothing?

 

Again, the fact that we were always on the front of the group is not an accident. It's because one of 2 things - 1) nobody had the legs or 2) nobody wanted to work with us.

Some much needed positivity: Huge shoutouts and love to   Sarah Wilson who is umpiring the Women's Hockey Final. A massive achievement for anyone especially in the often thankless and undercelebrated role of match official. So pleased for her
