Don’t know about canoeing, but bob, luge & skeleton all use different material.

Yes, but they should use the same material. Same for cross-country skiing.

Can somebody explain to me, what is this race? I thought men's sprints were decided for places 5-8 yesterday and Rudyk was not going to start in sprint anymore?
