Going from bad to worse - Isidore goes out in the 1/8 finals. Only Kye Whyte left to score points for :GBR

This discipline looks a mess at the moment for GB, Shriver looks a mile off the pace and then somehow manages to crash her bike when 10 meters behind everyone else, messy stuff

I'd say there's a couple of issues within BMX Racing squad at the moment. The biggest problem GB have on the women's side is that they rely entirely on Shriever to maintain their results. The good news on that front is that by the time we are looking at qualifying for LA, Emily Hutt should have moved up to the elite level and we'll hopefully have Sienna Harvey and Betsy Bax still on the squad in under-23s.

Was watching the 10ks so haven't watched the World Champs yet but from what I've seen of Shriever so far this season, she has a tendency that when she isn't challenging for the win, she will ease up a bit - she's not really interested in fighting for 4th. She hasn't shown the kind of form this year that we have perhaps come to expect of her, but as an Olympic and World Champion, she knows how to win when it matters and has earned the right to have an occasional off-day.

On the men's side, it's almost the opposite problem - we've got great depth in the squad, but they haven't been able to string a consistent set of results together

Shriever had a poor start but was then badly baulked by Pajon going down right in front of her. It killed any momentum she had. Even still, she was still in with a shout of 4th on the final straight but overcooked it. But she was only about 2-3m behind the group when she went down, not 10m!

Ah, cycling's favourite injury strikes again.

Not a medical expert but doesn’t sound like she has broken the collarbone, rather a hairline fracture ? Obviously very unwelcome news for her prep but don’t believe this puts her participation at Paris in question.

She's got, what between 10-11 weeks until the BMX in Paris?

Obviously never a guarantee but I've heard of cyclists being back on the bike within a month and fully recovered within 6-8 weeks.

So yeah, you would think she's still in with a decent shot. Especially considering there's no obvious like-for-like replacement, so you imagine they will give her every opportunity to get fit. Not overly worried right now about her participation.

Collarbone breaks in cyclists heal very quickly if treated quickly - the normal process is to pin them. Usually you can get on rollers to keep aerobic fitness up within a couple of weeks, and if the break is clean without complications (as opposed to a Beloki-Froome-Bernal style wipeout) you can be properly back in the saddle in 6 weeks.
