and I add also a special mention for Patrick Pigneter and Evelyn Lanthaler (wintersports/non-olympic sports*) and Vincenzo Nibali (cycling)...

 

*hopefully not for very long time yet...

Who would you say your nations' best athlete(s) or teams of the past decade were? For  I would go with Sidney Crosby (ice hockey). 2 Olympic gold medals, 1 world championship gold, 1 world cup of hock

For Croatia - in terms of total medals being won - Sandra Perković... 2 x Olympic champion, 2 x World champion, 5 x European champion.   But my personal favorite would be Igor Marenić. Guy

For  China definitely goes to Li Na the tennis player. She is not an Olympic medalist but won 2 grand slam titles,  becoming the first asian ever to achieve this. She is very popular among Chinese fan
