Power Rankings

28th May 2023

It’s time for our final Power Rankings of the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, Finland – Latvia.
Who can be surprised to find Canada atop the rankings?
Coach Andre Tourigny’s determined team was full value for its 5-2 gold-medal win over Germany on Sunday night.
The Germans nail down second place with an unexpected run to silver, marking their best finish since 1953 and evoking memories of their Olympic silver medal in Korea just five years ago.
And – in a true surprise – Latvia joyfully takes third place after its historic, thrilling 4-3 overtime win over the Americans in the bronze medal game.
We loved every minute of the action in Tampere and Riga, and we’re already counting down the days until the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Czechia (Prague and Ostrava).
See you again soon!

1 can.png CAN If it was here next year, we’d win platinum

    • The atmosphere of the Olympics is truly unique, even top-tier favorites face the constant threat of elimination.
