According to Wikipedia, the organization of the sport is very confusing. Two federations organized world championships, then merged, then a new federation emerged and claimed the rights to organize the sport, instead of the one that resulted from the merge.

It looks like FIG has a new sport to try to steal from other federations.

I can’t wait for the FIG Horse Vaulting Championships, and the FIG Ice Gymnastics Four Continents Championships
