Equestrian FEI Eventing Group C Olympic Games Qualifier 2019

Recommended Posts

Detailed entries are out.

:BLR Belarus

Aliaksandr Faminou (Martinie)

Hanna Nemtsava (Gambrinus)

Raman Varanko (Dervish)

Alexander Zelenko (Verdikt)

:CZE Czech Republic

Miloslav Prihoda Jr. (Ferreolus Lat)

:POL Poland (4 riders will be selected)

Jan Kaminski (Jard)

Mateusz Kiempa (Grand Supreme)

Mariusz Kleniuk (Winona)

Joanna Pawlak (Fantastic Frieda)

Pawel Spisak (Banderas)

Pawel Warszawski (Aristo A-Z or Filer)

:RUS Russia

Aleksandr Markov (Kurfurstin)

Andrey Mitin (Gurza)

Evgenia Vysotskaya (Eclair d'Amour)

Belarusians have a reputation for being rather fancy movers in dressage. They could even lead this thing after the opening phase, but really this quota is Poland's to lose. Markov is not bad, but Russia can't do anything with only three team members. Unfortunately for them, Belarusians also have a reputation for being snails across the country.

Czech Republic only has an individual, but it can be significant. Baborowko qualifer will be a chance for getting a huge amount of ranking points.

Don't you just love the names of Belarusian horses? Dervish, Verdikt. :hearts: Gambrinus.

Yeah, outside of elimination it should be Poland. I thought the Czech Republic would have an outside chance, but they don't have a team...

Gambrinus is the name of the most famous bar in Naples :D however, as far as concerns individual qualification, I suppose this is not a direct qualifier for group C. Is it counting also for Olympic Qualification Ranking or only for Group C ranking?

It will count for both Group C and Overall rankings. However, Group C nations will have more potential points on the table, since this event technically counts as "Group C Championships".

Individual Group C winner can get as many points as European champion later this year, so yeah, it's a big deal.

Start list is out for tomorrow.

We have a late individual entry - :HUN Imre Toth. Once again it's significant since this competition offers a lot of individual ranking points for Group C nations.

Competition will however also be open to non-Group C individuals. Most notably we have double Olympic champion :GER Michael Jung himself making a long format debut aboard Chipmunk. Chipmunk is the horse on which Julia Krajewski lead dressage at last year's WEG. It's a new ride for Jung this year, and, yeah, this may as well be a debut performance of the 2020 Olympic champions...

Polish team has been selected - Warszawski, Pawlak, Spisak, Kleniuk.

    • I'll post significant changes periodically. I'll start with the recently added/updated documents.   Archery The addition of mixed compound (12M & 12W) forced a reduction on the recurve side. The mixed compound quotas are distributed as follows   Host - 1 World Championships - 3 Continental Games - 5 World Ranking List - 2 Final Qualifier - 1   To compensate the team events will now only have 8 nations. 2 quotas were removed from the World Ranking List and 2 were removed from the Final Qualifier.   Individual recurve and mixed recurve distribution is the same

Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA

She wasn’t a top-tier athlete in that program anymore. She was at the end of her career. I would personally would rather race against Katie. She’s not as competitive as the other athletes,” he said. “It’s probably really unfair to say and not really where I want to go with this but that’s where we are with that.”   Uhlaender: “If I were Canada, I would be concerned in how this coach is representing the Olympic values for his country,” Uhlaender told Fox News Digital. “He hurt a whole field of athletes, all with dreams, and this sends the message that they don’t matter unless they are number one. All athletes matter, and we all deserve to compete fairly, with integrity, and respect. He did not respect anyone in that field. “This is not about my resume or how good the athletes were in the race. This is about the fact that he intentionally manipulated the competition to hurt myself and 13 other countries because he felt it necessary to eliminate all possibility. That is against the spirit of sport and not what the Olympic movement represents.”   Isn't it great when other people's dirty laundry is aired?  /sarcasm     (I was a little surprised to see NPR pick this up, but per this article, Uhlaender preemptively recorded the phone call after receiving a text from Cecchini that said he had 'bad news' for her.)
