what a sad race...especially among the women, the competition was...meh! :nopompom:

the average level of the (still most exciting) discipline of snowboard is going down every Olympic cycle instead of getting better...:pope: :drama:

the usual parallel farce...those on the blue course have all the advantage (slope and track design) on the last 5 gates...

it takes a miracle (or a big mistake by the opponent) to win on the red course :wall:

    • Frölunda Overcome Luleå in OT to Claim Fifth CHL Title   Game Recap   For only the second time in Champions Hockey League history, the Final went to overtime, wher e Frölunda Gothemburg were crowned 2025/26 European Club Champions as they took down Luleå Hockey 3-2 to lift the the European Trophy once again.    Jere Innala played hero for the hosts who secured their fifth CHL title in front of a sellout crowd in the Scandinavium.   Neither club conceded much ice to the opposition in a scoreless first period that showcased a solid demonstration in defence from both sides.   Though Frölunda ended the stanza with shots in their favour 8 to 3, it was an opportunity for Luleå, who almost broke the deadlock near the midway mark when a deflection in front nearly got past Tobias Normann, who made good on the save.    Then, early in the second, it was the visitors with another excellent attempt when a cross-ice feed almost found the back of the net on a tip-in chance that ricocheted off the far post as Normann slid across to manoeuver it back into play.    Later on, Luleå became the recipients of the first powerplay of the night, but it was the hosts taking advantage when the hero for Frölunda from the 2017 CHL Final put his team in front on a brilliant individual effort.   Nicklas Lasu, who went pointless in the Playoffs, intercepted a pass near the blueline before dashing towards the offensive zone, where he skated in all alone and wristed the puck past the blocker of Matteus Ward to open the scoring.   Puck dropped in the third and immediately Luleå set about dictating the pace of play and it paid off when Eeto Koivistoinen tipped in a shot from the point to even things at 1-1.   The side's leading scorer, Mathias Bromè, whipped the puck towards the net as Koivistoinen, who was parked just above the crease, got his stick on it to deflect it into the cage.   Minutes later, however, Frölunda found their second with a deflection of their own on the powerplay.    Play developed when Henkrik Tömmernes played catch with Innala along the near wall before fluttering the puck through traffic as Jacob Peterson managed to redirect it past Ward to regain the home side's one-goal lead.    The visitors continued to play desperate hockey in the final minutes of regulation and were rewarded when, with just 16 seconds to go in regulation, it was Luleå levelling the score thanks to Otto Leskinen's first-ever CHL goal.    Leskinen glided down the near side where the puck eventually made it to his stick, as he corralled it and then fired it far side past Normann.   In the extra session, it was some undisciplined play which resulted in a powerplay opportunity for Frölunda, who made the most of it when Innala converted on a one-timer from inside the near circle that beat Ward clean glove side to lift his team over Luleå and become the 2025/26 CHL Champions.
