I hope she's just pulled the wool over Bach's eyes and gained his trust just to get in this position, but only time will tell. Her position on trans athletes is positive, and I'd like to think she's for a 3 week Olympic games and an extension of the current athletes quota with her being a former athletes in recent times. Only time will tell whether she's good for the role, but this first year will likely be crucial to how successful here tenure is going to be with LA events and qualification routes to be decided and Milan-Cortina 26 taking place. -

So much for these predictions Coventry has been phased out and it's down to Samaranch, Jr & Coe -
So far have all qualified for the women's tournament (along with host ). Very likely that and / will also qualify, with the last spot from the combined 2024 and 2025 worlds likely coming down to (who is currently very narrowly in a qualification position), or (who needs a very high finish after missing the 2024 worlds). -

Ah but what will her Official Chron Title be? Kristi Coventry Septuple Olympic Swimming Medallist? Kristi Coventry Gold Medal Swimming Athens 2004 Gold Medal Swimming Beijing 2008? Kristi Coventry Double Olympic Champion 200m Backstroke? I can see there being a lot of arguments between now and Milan. -

So we get another decade of Bach ruling What is her position on trans athletes? Is she for or against them? Also please no new 50 m events in swimming.. There are already enough swimming events as it is, these will bring nothing new. Did anyone mention at all the idea of making the SOG 3 full weeks with the 3 pillars (athletics, swimming and gymnastics) headlining each week? That's something i'm totally onboard.

I don't think it'll be as bad as people think, Kirsty has gone against the Bach grain with some things such as the transgender issue so there could be a case here of Coventry using Bach just to get in this position. But the whole situation of almost all the members sucking up to Bach was really quite sickening.
