if Fencingtimelive website doesn't work well, you can try also this one (that's for the Junior events, but on the same website there's also the Cadets section, just look for it on the calendar page):

The results of the cadet european championships are insane from an hungarian perspective:

Men's sabre: Bronze, 6th, 7th

Men's foil: Gold, Silver

Men's epee: -

Women's sabre: Gold, 5th, 6th

Women's foil: Silver

Women's epee: Gold, 6th, 7th

- They won half the individual events

- They won a medal in 5 of the 6 individual events

- They had 3 athletes in the top 7 in half of the individual events

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

  • 2 months later...

So we have the world number 4 and world number 7 in the women's sabre but could not organise a National Championships this year due to not enough fencers signing up in that category

    • changes that go absolutely against the Italians (notoriously the top swimmers and not the best shooters in MP) 😭😭😭   now it's really time to axe MP from the Games 😈🥳
    • I think there was a feeling before the obstacle course was introduced that really, really solid endurance runners were starting to dominate - in Triathlon you might call it the Alex Yee conundrum. Personally, I don't mind at all if the 'martial' elements are reemphasised as that is the real 'soul' of the sport - Triathlon, Marathon and Road cycing are there for genuine endurace, MP is in some senses a 'soldiery' test - one reason I thought Judo might have been a better addition than the obstacle course. But placing a higher emphasis on the fight bits over the flight bits seems a legitimate idea - though it should also increase the X-country nature of the run so that the test of a fresh shooter at the beginning is rather different from the test of a knackered one at the end. I quite like the artificial hill in rio.
