:MAS most famous player Lee Zii Jia quits from national team and being a professional player. His move angers Malaysian badminton federation and it declared it will not help Lee register any BWF events for two years as long as it requires registration by national federation.

But its decision is allow to appeal so I guess these two parts are still bargaining.

Now after backlash from international and local community, Lee Zii Jia and Goh Jin Wei are cleared to play independently. Of course they had to write a social media post thanking the kindness of Malaysian Badminton Association president and the Prime Minister

14 year old Unnati Hooda :IND became one of the youngest  winners in BWF world tour event. Enroute her victory she defeated the actual Indian No 2 in Women's Singles(Malvika Bansod) (Grandma Saina is ranked higher than Malvika but she's very old and losing everything now including straight game loss to Malvika recently)

What will happen to the fate of this player is unknown for now.

Spoiler

JAKARTA – Chinese men's doubles badminton player Di Zijian is suspected of being involved in match-fixing. That happened against the Indonesian pair at the Denmark Open last year.

This allegation surfaced after Zijian's ex-girlfriend uploaded a picture of a snippet of their conversation in 2021. The conversation took place the day before the competition took place.

The screenshot was then used by Planet Badminton as a basis for reporting on the alleged match fixing.

The conversation showed Zijian chose to lose the first set in the first round match of the Danish Open against the Indonesian pair Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana.

In return he will get 100 thousand renminbi dollars, equivalent to Rp. 225 million. However, the truth of the screenshot of the chat has not yet been confirmed.

However, this conjecture was strengthened by the final result that Zijian and his partner Wang Chang obtained. At that time they immediately lost in straight sets 6-21, 19-21 at the hands of Fikri/Bagas.

When referring to the final result, all of the conjectures seemed to match what Zijian had discussed with his ex-girlfriend in the conversation.

Besides, Zijian actually didn't like to partner with players from Zhejiang. This strengthens the allegation because Wang, who in fact is his co-star, is a player born in Ningbo, Zhejiang.

Zijian and Wang Chang were champions of the World Championships and Asian Junior Championships in 2018. Then in 2019 they became the main rivals for the young Indonesian couple, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin.

If this conjecture was true then Zijian's career would likely be in jeopardy.

Di Zi Jian is a MD player. It is almost impossible for him to fix the match alone or purposely lose on his own. He may need the cooperation of his MD partner to be able to do that. That is why this match fixing case is really very suspicious till now.

As far as I know, Di Zi Jian is provisionally suspended for investigation. But his former partner Wang Chang is going to attend the up-coming tournaments with his new partner and Wang Chang stated he was innocent and not involved into the matching-fixing drama on his social media account. I think we will know the result soon. But quite surprisingly I thought this drama is very limited known by fans.

All England living up to it's expectations!

Lots of upsets and an exciting yet unpredictable brand of badminton, the reason I can watch the sport all year without getting bored.
