ExpandIm in love with the British public and their reception of Trump
Such a proud day to be British! I was one of those marching through London with 250’000 others! I hope Trump got the message that he and his policies are not welcome in the UK.

ExpandGood question, for who Russia will give their 12 points in final when
and
are out?
Goop point! Georgia are very unlikely to qualify as well! Maybe Cyprus (there is a big Russian connection there) or a new Central European friend, like Czech Republic or Hungary?
12: Moldova
10: Israel
8: Australia
7: Azerbaijan
6: Germany

ExpandI don't like this song :/ Asanda would be much better choice...
I did agree with you before tonight, but Asanda's voice wasn't great and the dancing/staging didn't lift the song at all, it was much better on radio and very messy on TV. SuRie's performance was powerful and really got the crowd going, which really hepled her come across well on TV. Asanda may have done better in Lisbon, but SuRie was the best tonight.
UK Song for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest: Storm by SuRie
The UK song selection Eurovision You Decide Contest will be held tonight in Brighton (clearly inspired by the Totallympics Song Contest held in the city last year!)
Some of the songs are decent this year, especially Legends by Asanda which has a great afrobeat vibe, so fingers crossed the British public picks that tonight!
Happy New Year everyone!! Always good to be waking up in an Olympic year!!

I think you are 100% right about the UK jury - the head of our jury has publically said that she just wants someone shy to stand there and sing and that she dislikes any gimmicks on stage? It will be between Poland and Lithuania for our televote - it is every year and I doubt it will be any different.
Some other interesting patterns you may have not seen
- Ireland will give lots of points to Latvia
- Belgium/Netherlands/France will give high points to Armenia
- The head of the german jury was a judge on the Voice of Germany when the Armenian contestant was competing - so Germany will give lots of points to Armenia as well

ExpandDon't give up hope that easily
After weeks of judging it took the number 1 spot in my TOP 43.
I strongly believe that it will be the best Bulgarian placement in their history and has a very high chance to be in the TOP 10.
Could not agree with you more about Russia, it is dated and overrated. I hope the juries share your view and that the televoters vote for something more modern. I really hope Russia do not win with this as it will push the progress of the contest back 10 years and reduce the musical credibility that has been built up with excellent winners over the past few years.
Thank you to everyone who has voted so far. The current Top 10 after 7 voters is....

I think my favourites this year have to be Croatia and
Australia, but there is something about
Bosnia that I really like as well.
For the UK - they will do very well to get into the top 20, hopefully a good live vocal, staging and placing may be able to do that so that the BBC sticks with the national selection format, but just with better (and more interesting) songs next time.

Because the referendum had a clause that said there had to be a 50% turnout for the vote to be valid! Ultimately they ignored that rule anyway!
