The women's races in Cervinia have also been cancelled, even though they were for next week.

FIS's idea for a new Grande opening to the WC is going, going, gone...

Cervinia_Zermatt has been cancelled for both men (this week) and women (next week). No freaking snow anywhere? I am starting to feel that we may be able to see even 2-3 weekends at one spot. Not only talking about Alpine Skiing.

Is it normal to compete in this almost blind situation for Alpine Skiing? Other skiing events almost all postponed.

I have never seen WC race in such bad conditions .... Or at least cannot recall any ..... I think it wasn't a happy call by the race director to compete today .... The skiers are literally drowning in snow .... I think there is enough space to postpone the race

What a race. Mayer is already a huge legend of the Olympic history.... I am kinda happy for Ryan as his silver is very unexpected .... But very sad for Adrian as I really wished him to earn a medal there he comes in 4th :-(

Anyways, Olympics full of surprises as usual!

My bets for 2nd run now - 1. Hector 2. Brignone 3... well, my heart goes for Maryna ofc but if it can't happen I still think Vlhova after miracle run or Worley

My guess that for the 3rd spot might be Nina O'Brien :USA her first run was really great with bib 21. I think she will go hard in the 2nd run too.

The results on this slope are very unusual ..... I can't help myself but the course looks stable, still in a good condition after 25 ladies but yet I see no matter how well you ski with higher number, it somehow does not let you in top positions ..... Of course O'Brien was an exception ..... Anyways, pity for Michaela and I truly hope with fire rocket in Petra's ass in the second run 😅😅

It seems that every country refuses quota and FIS started to offer automatically to :CZE :-D

I am happy for every athlete. But it is a little bit weird that our athletes do not compete for whole year in any WC (both men and women) and now they would start in OG.

It is not only about WC. You most follow also EC, FIS races, COC ..... All athletes going to OG in "FIS sports" made there descent results. Otherwise they could not collect enough FIS points and qualify 😀

:CZE accepted quota: Tereza Nová (downhill, SG, combination)

Yeah, read it just yesterday 🙂 .. on FIS page was the accepted quota for some time ..... Was waiting for the name who is actually gonna fly. Still surprised Gabriela Capová is not going ......

Well, according to FIS page :CZE after all accepted the additional quota . So after Anezka Indrackova and Radek Rydl in ski jumping, we recieved another reallocation. So I suppose the next quota may go to Gabriela Capová or Celine Sommerová or Tereza Nová. Waiting for confirmation as COC and Czech media are silent .... Will see tomorrow ...

    • Probably not helped by Livigno just being a massive pain in the ass in general in terms of 'reachability' (and the people there being convinced Livigno is the only place in the world that matters, but that's another thing entirely ).

    • This is where me being both Canadian and American comes in - I don’t consider that that kind of travel time impractical :P   Admittedly I’m not keen on driving through mountain passes at night. Hard to make a real plan until the train timetables are released for the games. The main assumption I’m making that might screw me is that I’ll be able to make it back to Milan Central station from Livigno on Saturday night (using a combination of the Olympics specific shuttle bus to Tirano station and trains). If that’s doable then it’s just a matter of getting to VCE early the next morning and there is an easy shuttle to and from Cortina (that stops at the Curling venue). And getting to Venice is something I can do by rental car if the train schedule doesn’t work.   Of course weather might mess up those plans, and if that’s the case spending an extra day in Milan and/or a day in Venice isn’t the end of the world. Similar thing with my somewhat risky flight from VCE to FCO, if I miss it I’ll have more than enough time to make it to Rome, it will just be very inconvenient.
