I don't think there is such a rumor, it's more of a point to show how weak german results are outside of these sports (the media here is a one-guy operation anyway). The sports will be okay for 2030 and 2034 as the facilities are already there. Later on, there might be an interrogation point as german domination is structurally guaranteed to last forever... -
There were news reports about that incident, but I think most people no longer care. There isn't much difference between third and fourth place, and there won't be more hatred or anything like that just because the United States took its place.
