Baseball has good enough depth to be included at the Olympics, it's on a similar level as field hockey/rugby sevens/water polo. What holds it back is venue costs and MLB refusing to let the players compete.
With that said, baseball definitely has an African depth problem. WBSC has been working hard on developing sport on the continent which is a lot more than what water polo has done.
Aicher really blew a big chance with those 2 mistakes in Val di Fassa last week, given how strong she was today.
Still, if she becomes consistently competitive in GS, and I'm sure she will, she will have plenty of chances in the next few years.
And for anyone interested, the Felix Lebrun / Hugo Calderano QF bout just now was epic. Worth going back and watching. (Interesting that the Chinese audience seem to be big Felix fans.)
Laegreid has set a new record for the largest winning margin in a World Cup pursuit.
The previous record belonged to Ole Einar Bjørndalen, who won in Hochfilzen in 2006 with 2.08 minutes over Dmitri Yaroshenko.
