Sweden - Austria. Shots on Goal : 65-6 Austria literally with a shot each 10 minutes. but their goalie ! oh dear, that is such star. The guy made 119 saves in 2 matches his name: Sebastian Wraneschitz On the negative side: Austria tied the negative record of the World Juniors Championships held by Belarus (in 2001 against Russia), and Slovakia (in 2017 against Canada) for fewest Shot on Goals in a World Junior Championships game at 6 -

I knew it Nothing unusual, great match and waste of energy against the top favorite and then losing to 1 line team Anyway huge respect to Stutzle, Peterka and Eliaš line, especially Timmy, what a fantastic player. However, thanks god at least for that point, now hopefully Canada will do the job against and one small note for the referees, tonight, they were an absolute tragedy. our goal from clear offside lol was one thing, but the calls, especially the one in the overtime was ridiculous. but well, it is how it is. let´s turn the page. now go Canada tonight ! Qualify us ! -

Bit of drama in parliament today. Since the State of emergency was planed to end tomorrow, the governement called a special session for today to vote the extension for another 40 days... but many of the coalition MEPs are now covid positives and this is a problem, the opposition obviously refused to vote for anything presented by the coalition (even in such important circumstances). so the leading parties had to found a solution and here it is. they called also their positive MEPs to come to the parliament to vote today, and they succeeded, the state of emergency has been extended, the positive MEPs voted from behind a specially modified tarp the whole opposition decided to leave the room, shouting and crying about farce and abuse of power etc.. meanwhile one of the neo-nazi party even destroyed one of the tarps (How much stupid these morons can be is beyond me, they definitely have no limit of stupidity) so before the vote, everyone had to leave the hall to let workers fix the tarp.

Race cancelled. Unlucky Petra, losing another important points, but what can we do. According to our TV, there still a very very very slim chance for the 2nd run to be completed tomorrow morning (Petra team wish), but not very likely to happen

Men's Ice Hockey IIHF Under 20 World Championship 2021

Absolutely. However, I am a bt worried about the game vs the Germans, we have looong history of playing a hell of a game against favorites and then the next day mess up completely against "weaker" team. + Our youngsters left a lot of energy in a physically extremely demanding thriller last night and they will have to play immediatelly the next night and likely the most important match of the turnament against a rested team of Germany which will be able to field also new returning players from that forced quarantine. + I expect them to want show to the world that the 2-16 was a special circumstances one timer and they are much more competitive (which we know they pretty well are around Stutzle, Eliaš and Peterka). Anyway, the most important thing from this tournament is that we have some very interesting propects for the future and they are learning a lot these days. We may be rewarded for this in some 2-3 years with some quite interesting team at the Juniors worlds and that some good news also for Cortina 2026. The Czechs were absolutely fantastic. Huge team play. So happy for them. Great heart and team spirit after the debacle from SWE, to return and outplay this way such strong Russian squad. Bravo. -

Ok, it is Time. Obviously our youngsters (the youngest team in the last 20 years of World Juniors with three 16 years old and one other 17 years old) going to be strongly schooled tonight. Nobody is having any illusions, we will lost it, just hopefully not too dirty. So guys, just go to the ice and enjoy this match against 20 of the best players of the world in the under 20 age category, fight and enjoy the experience you´ll remember the whole life. Just please keep it in single digit, please ! -
Todays surgery in Innsbruck means the end of season for Bernadette Schild. Knee injury in training, the exactly same injury she had in Solden 2019 and quickly finished her season last year.

Not sure how much we can trust this site watson.ch but according to them there some real chances the World Champs may be moved to Slovakia Due to the tense political situation in Belarus, the International Hockey Federation (IIHF) is considering the possibility of taking away the tournament from the country and at the same time is considering various alternatives. One of them should be apparently the transfer of part of the championship to Bratislava, informs the Swiss site. IIHF President René Fasel does not want the cancellation of the championship as he did in 2020. He wanted to resolve the current situation with the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko himself, but he contracted the coronavirus and had to move his planned travel to Minsk. According to some rumors he was expected to let him know at the meeting that the IIHF will take away the organization of the tournament. Originally, part of the championship was planed to be moved to St. Petersburg, but after the well known hosting ban for the entire Russian sport, this possibility fell through. Thus, other possible variants began to be solved. One of them is that the whole championship would be organized only in Latvia by Riga, which, however, has only one hall meeting the requred conditions of the IIHF. The Nordic countries are also out of the question, as they already have the next World Championships assigned to them. In Finland in 2022 and in Sweden and Denmark in 2025. The other two options are Prague and Bratislava . The whole tournament in Bratislava and Prague should also according to rumors be in the game. If one part of the World Championship has to be remained in Latvia, Bratislava is apparently prefered to Prague because the Czech Republic will organizes the World Championship in 2024. The fact that organizing the tournament would cost less money there than in the countries of Western Europe also speaks in favor of Slovakia or the Czech Republic. The final verdict should be announced at the beginning of next year.
