  1. In reality, the length isn't a big issue, at least not felt here in Italy. A lot of time is indeed dedicated to guests and similar things. Even on evenings with only 15 singers, the show ends around 1:30. And then there's the 45-minute after-show
  2. Simply put, Sanremo is Sanremo; it's too important for us Italians :0 I know people who take time off work, jokingly calling it "holy week" on social media. Even politics talks about Sanremo and brings controversies to parliament. I think it's simply a matter of tradition
  3. The share data for the Sanremo super final have finally been released: over 10 million viewers at 2am, with a 91% share. Wow, not even the 2006 World Cup final had these numbers
  4. There is a live scoring? I only see the results page that update at end of the match
  5. I just notice that UWW become a pay-for-view only. That's sad.
  6. This is embarrassing. France lead 15-5 in the Lima's final.
  7. The main problem is that the song was terrible, truly terrible (aside from being in Neapolitan and not in Italian, the rules were ad-hoc changed for him). There have been many accusations that Geolier's fans bought SIM cards in mass to vote, but I find that quite unlikely. Certainly, many Neapolitans believe the controversies are a matter of territorial racism, but it's absolutely false—I say this as a Campanian. Even Angelina Mango has verses in Neapolitan in her songs, and she's from Basilicata. Sanremo is Sanremo; controversies and boos are normal. It has always happened and is part of the show. I recall an edition where the jury rebelled against Emanuele Filiberto, a member of the former Italian royal family, entering the final, even throwing the sheet music https://youtu.be/U0zFizNPkwU?si=UzASIIsv-QorjBtc
  8. Incredible numbers for the Sanremo final, reaching a 74% share (!!!). For comparison, the semi-final of the UEFA European Championship Italy-France had a 77% share. Apparently, the Superfinal reached 80-85% share, staggering numbers comparable to World Cup football finals with Italy, wow.
  9. Anyway, the closing of the evening was a bit sad. Amadeus and Fiorello, the best hosts of the Sanremo Festival, announced their retirement after 5 years. It will be interesting to see in the coming months if RAI can convince them to change their minds or if they will have to find new hosts
  10. Yesss Angelina Mango won the 74th Festival di Sanremo. Geolier won the popular vote by 60% but he was DESTROYED from press and radio juries. Vamosss
  11. A lot of people are actually do a strategic vote for push Mango ahead Geolier. The press Jury (33%) should put Geolier in the last place, it's still possible an upset
  12. Advance to superfinal: Irama (Tu No) Ghali (Casa mia) Angelina Mango (La noia) Geolier (I p'me tu p'te) Annalisa (Sinceramente)
  13. Strong applause for Angelina Mango (who fell on stage), and now Geolier. The favorites one after the other
  14. In a highly controversial Sanremo, with insults and attacks on social media among fans for days, there was a truly emotional moment. Gigliola Cinquetti sang 'Non ho l'età,' 60 years after her victory at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was indeed a beautiful moment
  15. Because he has a terrible song. The only reason he's up there is because he's getting massive votes from Naples
  16. The provisional ranking before the final has been revealed, and Geolier is in the lead. As expected, he was booed again Tonight apparently a lot of people will vote against him in the SuperFinal. Tonight only the televote will count. Top 5 will advance at the SuperFinal (around 2/2.15 am Italian time), and press will count for 33%, radio 33% and televote 33%
  17. Btw, here the yesterday Ariston's reaction to Geolier victory
  18. It's not just because he's Neapolitan or because the song isn't entirely in Italian but in Neapolitan, it's because the song is just awful. I say this as a Campanian. Even Angelina Mango is from southern Italy and has some bars in Neapolitan, and no one is complaining
  19. There's a strong controversy in Italy regarding Gioiellier winning Sanremo, with significant media and radio mobilization (66% of the final result in tonight's superfinal at 2 a.m.) against him. Yesterday, he was brutally booed at the Ariston; it's a shame he's so high in the rankings
