  1. The leafs always choke during the final act so it wouldn't matter anyways.
  2. Anyone know the last time 3 European teams lost on the same day during the group stage? Can't be something that happens that often.
  3. I know everyone's clowning on Canada here and rightfully so but I can't complain too much. Croatia definitely outclassed us today. However, if you told me a few years ago that we would be able to go head to head with Belgium and take a lead against Croatia, there's no way I would have believed you. Almost 10 years ago, we literally lost 8-1 to Honduras. Now at this tournament, we were able to gain a lot of people's respect during the Belgium game and scored a historical first goal against Croatia. Now hoping for a point against Morocco but it looks like it won't be easy. Our core is still very young so I'm hopeful for 2026
  4. Lol, production audio just came on randomly during the game on the Canadian broadcast. Suddenly heard "Mic 1 mic1 mic1"
  5. I think the lesson here is to not post about your perfect score predictions before the match ends
  6. Well, the loss was expected but I was hoping for a goal at least. Oh well, still proud of the team regardless
  7. Well I just woke up, what the heck happened to Argentina?!!

  9. Huge news from the international baseball world! It seems like Cuban defectors will be allowed to play for the national team for the first time ever.

  12. Europe is definitely not dominant in short track. Traditionally, Korea, China and Canada have been the most successful countries. Only in the last decade have European countries like the Netherlands and Italy been on the rise. For this event, looks like Canada, Korea and the US have most of their A team here minus one or two skaters. China and Kazakhstan looks like they don't.

  14. The pool's have officially been confirmed! Biggest surprise is that Panama was placed in the Taiwan group while Great Britain is playing in one of the US groups. Pool A Taichung Pool B Tokyo Pool C Phoenix Pool D Miami Cuba Australia Canada Dominican Republic Italy China Colombia Israel Netherlands Czech Republic Great Britain Nicaragua Panama Japan Mexico Puerto Rico Taiwan South Korea United States Venezuela Panama is definitely the biggest winner here as it seems like any of the 5 teams in Pool A can advance out of the pool. Czech Republic gets a decent pool as well. They'll basically have no chance against Japan and Korea but are capable of beating China to avoid having to go through the qualification phase in 2026. Originally thought to be in Pool A, Great Britain now finds itself in Pool C with the other 4 teams being unfavourable matchups. Of course, watch them end up beating Canada just because that's how baseball works. Nicaragua is definitely the biggest losers here. Their WBC debut will see them play in the group of death and they'll have to face off against the powerhouses of the DR, Puerto Rico, Venezuela along with Israel will be mostly the Jewish American team.
  15. What a day of baseball! First the Philadelphia Phillies complete their upset of the defending World Series Champions, Atlanta Braves, by beating them 3 games to one. Then, the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners battle in an 18 INNING game that Houston ultimately came out on top in a pitching duel 1-0. Then, the Cleveland Guardians complete a miracle comeback scoring 3 runs in the 9th inning to beat the New York Yankees 6-5. Then, the San Diego Padres eliminate the best team in the regular season, the Los Angeles Dodgers, in 4 games. This is why I love the sport.
