I think it is again because of the foreign players limitations. Fenerbahçe, Vakıfbank, Eczacıbaşı and Galatasaray have a decent budget and they pay a lot for the Turkish players since they are very valuable in the national league.

Another reason Turkiye have many naturalized athletes in team sports is that there is a limitation on the number of foreign players can play for each team. So for the national league, teams try to naturalize good players so that they do not count as foreign players (we also do not have EU passports so all European players count as foreign player) . But as you say it is easy to stop the leveraging of this in the national teams, just put a limitation saying that you can choose only 1 of the naturalized ones at any time. That is it.

Turkiye won 21 medals in the last 2 olympics, 24 people were involved in these medals (with archery team medal). None of them, not even one of them were naturalized, all of them were born and raised in Turkiye. Yes, unfortunately we have the tendency to naturalize more than European countries but it is because of two reasons: - European countries also have many athletes whose fathers and mothers not born in that country mostly African people who are on average more athletic and successful in many sports. In many national team in Europe you see more black athletes than white which is okey, I do not have anything against it. But Turkiye try to encounter that with naturalizing which I am against. - We are not good at many sports including athletics, bringing talented people to the teams also improve your own athletes hopefully. For example in Judo they naturalize a few people and now we have some good young athletes. Athletics did not work but archery somehow did. But in any case we do not have a flock of naturalized people everywhere trying to get medals. As I said, in the last 2 olympics we do not even have one medal from naturalized athletes. It is also very easy to stop countries to have more than one naturalized athlete in team sports. Just allow one as suggested. I think men basketball was doing that, I am not sure if they changed.

Iran has been impressive in both heavyweights. Congrats. I think Rıza was the better wrestler but he is very old now, he lost all momentum in the last minute. I guess our heavyweight domination days are more or less over with Taha and Rıza getting old. But it was a great decade. The unfortunate thing is we do not have any followers in any weight class. Not liking the decision is one thing, blaming judges and winner with being dirty and wanting the sport to be removed is another thing. As I said I did not watch the match and you are probably right, it might be the wrong decision, but I see that the points were close and Serra won the last round. I do not think judges were bribed and made our guy win. There were many cases in this tournament that I definitely thought we won the round and it was 4-1, 3-2 for the opponent. I never blamed the judges, our TV does that and I find it cringy, I also find it cringy when it is done here.

Have not watched the game but obviously whenever an Italian loses a close match the judges and the management of boxing become biased and dirty. Yesterday they blamed the fact that judges were from Muslim countries, today 4 out of 5 judges were from Asia or Australia or South America but again they lost because this sport is dirty. By the way we lost a very close semifinal today against Romanian but hey I guess their lobby even topped our lobby.

Very sad with our performance, but not for our final performance, we were pretty good with a chance to even win a gold, but either of our athletes did not make the finals in singles which I think is a huge failure.
